**Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

**Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

Apologies for this long, ranting post, but I have to get it out of my head. I don't care if you read it or not.

For weeks now, I felt so incredibly overwhelmed with sadness; on the edge of tears constantly that never get released. I'm back on medication for depression which doesn't seem to be working after 3 weeks.

Nothing brings much satisfaction anymore, not even my job, which was one thing I had to hold onto to keep me going. And after yet another impulsive attempt and a trip to hospital last weekend, where I also take shifts, my professional conduct & capacity is being questioned by other staff and departmental managers. I don't blame them; I would probably feel the same way.

My SI is actually an acceptable 'coping mechanism' for my BPD when life gets to much, and I need to shut down. But now it's become a burden and problematic because of how often I've presented to hospital in the last 6months. Often if I feel 'safe' enough, I stay home and sleep it off. So now, after feeling like I've burdened health services to the point of annoyance, I feel like I have go ahead and made a proper effort because I deserve to be punished for that. I can't 'urge surf' these SI/SA thoughts anymore. I feel compelled to put them into proper action. Now that I have made that decision, I am scared, that if I really intend to go through with it, there's no coming back, no tommorows.

Why do I now suddenly care so much about dying, when I never did before with any other major attempts? I don't really know, but it's got me really rattled how stuck my mind is on making it work. I guess maybe I want to stick around for a bit longer. But this feeling of hopelessness is all consuming and strong.

I don't know what to do. I don't know who to turn to anymore, as the support services have heard it all before, so nothing they suggest helps. Not even my loved DBT skills help. How do you keep going when nothing helps, loved ones can't reach you, and it's just takes so long to feel any bit of right?

@Snowie - BBQ was good. Lots of nice people and food.

I hear you're anxious about tommorrow. That's to be expected. Hopefully that perception will change tommorow. You're getting the help you desperately need hun. You've needed this for a long time. I worry about you all the time; you know that. Like outlander has said, get the support that is available to you. Hopefully there's some really lovely nurses and other staff that you can be honest & transparent with who can help with the feeling and distress you are having. Take some books or magazines to read crosswords or whatever else you think you might help with boredom & distraction. Take some treats too; always good to have. You will have your belongings searched so try not to take in any they might see as a risk. Sometimes they make take your phone charger off for electrical testing or if the cord is too long. So take a shorter one. If it's tested you will get it back after a few days and usually you can charge your phone at the nurses desk. I guess it might be super hard in there to be distressed & not have your usual way of coping with it (does that make sense?) but when you start feeling like that talk the nurses. They'll usually have something for anxiety & sleep charted as a prn. If that doesn't work, they'll call the duty doctor.

@Sans911glad you had a good time at the BBQ and there were nice people there. I am assuming you are home with Jasper close by, if not in your lap!!

I have some books packed. They told me today they search my belongings and my chargers will stay at the nurses desk. No, I won't have my normal way of coping which I know will lead to those SI thoughts, so I guess I will be in the safest place possible to try and break that and learn different and new ways to cope. I know I have to go in there and be extremely honest and open or it won't help and I will just end up back in there. There are different groups during the day that I can join in on so will try and join in as much as I can. They are going to do a total med change in there too, as the meds I am on are not helping that much.

Least on a good note, I can still talk to you all on here.
