I don't want/need validation, just someone to say that they listened to what I said instead of being talked over, ignored or straight out told my feelings don't count. That's all I wanted.

@Glisten when I was about 16 my mum and brother decided to learn Russian. It was their mother-son bonding thing they did together. I decided to go one better and learn Finnish. No particular reason except that I didn't want to learn Italian, French, Japanese or Indonesian which was all that was on offer at school.

I got in contact with a minister at the Finnish Lutheran church in Perth and he put me in touch with a girl the same age as me who taught me. I am better at writing than speaking it though, I was never able to roll my "rrrrs" I've forgotten most of it now but I do have a very well worn note book with phrases and everyday sayings in it.

Have you grown up with pets ?

My sons had pet stick insects.

It was as far as I could cope with pets. But when my youngest son moved out of him my friends came over and they said, Right, we are worried about you. We are going to either put your profile on a dating site or we are gonna get you a dog

So begun my love affair with dogs.

Nice to hear from you, @Former-Member. Yes, still keeping busy and checking in on Sane. Pleased to hear you have been for a walk. I haven't walked since I got my car, but the sport is exercise enough. I just couldn't keep walking, and I certainly don't miss it.
