Good Morning Sis
@Former-Member 🙂
My tooth is much better being gone 😄 And I think I've found the best Dentist in the World! There's no pain afterwards, just a little discomfort (but that's to be expected) - it just feels better 😄 I wonder how I'm going to chew, but then I haven't really been able to chew for years now - guess I'll just keep doing it, how I've been doing it . . . soft foods and nibbling like a rabbit with my front teeth 😄 I'm really hoping the pain in my mouth will be gone now 🙂 I will go back, I've got to go to the City and get some special x-rays done . . . that might take me a bit . . . but I will and then I'll return. I even got brave enough to ask about dentures, but he said I haven't lost enough teeth, I think this was number 8 and they're all from the back - I've got none at the back on the bottom now. I hope it wasn't a gentle way of saying because of this gum disease I'm never going to be able to wear them . . . but there's always soup and mashed potatoes 😉
How's the medication reduction going? I hate to think of such a beautiful person suffering pain, but then I suppose the mecication muddle is a form of suffering too. I hope the balance is working well for you![]()
Peace and joy to you Bella, my cyber-angel Sister![]()

Hi @Former-Member@Bimby2@Faith-and-Hope@Shaz51@CheerBear@Maggie@Former-Member@outlander
I have told a few people that I have been off-colour with a virus - I haven't just missed out on a lot I have missed everyone as well and now I am catching up - so I think it's Sunday
Dec stares vacantly through her glasses and agrees it's Sunday
Gee Niqua - I read that you have lost another tooth and it has been a while but there is no pain - just some discomfort - oh sheesh - I freak out a whole lot when I have to have an extraction - I have extraction phobia
I don't agree that you don't need a partial denture - but partial dentures are tricky and have to be done by a highly qualified dental technician - I have upper and lower partials and I have to be really obsessive with keeping them clean and this is really important to save the rest of your teeth
Having your dentist say you don't need partial dentures yet means yuou are in the public system I think and that is a rough place to be - I was so lucky with my dentist (I was his first patient and kept paying my account) he let me have an account and I was better off with a private dentist - I would be scared stiff to have any other dentist into my mouth
I wish you the best with that but if you have lost most of your back teeth and have trouble chewing then it's fair that you have partial dentures but they are not the be all and end all alas - I can't bite apples or chew a tough steak - it doesn't work that way - but I lost my front teeth through misfortune and a really bad bite - I can say honestly that after a life with crooked front teeth I have so much more confidence with my upper partial with its "minor imperfections"
I'm so sorry about your teeth Niqua - I hope you can get this sorted - but really glad you had your tooth out without trouble
Thinking of you
Dec

Hello Dec
🙂
Glad to hear your feeling a bit better 🙂 That virus has been busy all over Australia hasn't it!
Yep . . . checked my computer . . . it is Sunday 😄
I've had 2 teeth taken this month, a bit 'woa is me', but it did make it a bit cheaper, as I didn't have to pay some consultation fee this time. It's a paid Dentist, that's why I was a little worried/confused . . . I thought he'd be rubbing his hands together, seeing dollar and cent signs, when I mentioned dentures? It's kind of why I joined the Smile dental plan - I know they're expensive. Maybe it's because I asked if I could pay the appointment off? {I wasn't able to, it has to be over $800 to go on a payment plan}. Anyhow I'm just hoping my gums will now settle and glad I don't have a screaming tooth in my head 😄
I have heard that dentures often aren't the answer, that your mouth is constantly changing and they will just stop fitting sometimes. Being so expensive that would be very disappointing! Plus the teeth I have left aren't very strong, so maybe they wouldn't handle having dentures attached? He did say something about the bone having to heal and I have to go into the city for a special x-ray {it does your whole mouth} So for now I'll just take the relief in my mouth as a good thing 🙂
Hope your smiling, sending you love![]()
