@CherryValentine

i am so happy that you are benefiting from the family support you are receiving.

i really like what you said about relationships - i had never heard that before but it is so true! my mum has been my best friend and has always been there for me so this is my turn to be there for her, and yes we are all a little broken 😉

i have a couple of close friends but try not to burden them too much lately as they have their own issues going on. i have found these forums a God send. i don't feel so alone and the people i have chatted to are absolutely beautiful. i feel blessed having come across this forum. i have also started seeing a counsellor through carers australia but will access some other resources for myself to help cope with my role. there are times when all is going smoothly and then 'bam' out of nowhere things go pear shaped - but then they improve again. i don't know if you have heard the quote by charlie chaplin "nothing is permanent in this wicked world - not even our troubles" - so true x

@Bella1978 It's lovely you can be there for your mum and so good that you are getting help. I agree, these forums are so helpful. It helps so much to interact with others that completely get it. I understand about not wanting to burden friends. I've just moved to a new area and have lacked motivation to make friends as I know that my mental health can be a burden.
I like that quote you shared, very cool. That's kind of how I have to think about things, that this is just for a time and one day I'll find that freedom I crave. Thanks for sharing, it's so encouraging! 💛

@CherryValentine

thanks luv 🙂 yep, i know i need to look after myself to be able to be there for mum. unfortunately one of my coping strategies is to turn to food. something i need to slowly work on!

im glad that these forums have helped you too. i didnt even know they existed until about a week and a half ago. yep, mental health can really take a toll on us, hey? i think though if we have a good support network, ie family, friends, counsellor, psychiatrist, these forms, etc it does help a lot and learning healthy coping strategies is very helpful. (emotional eating not so good lol)

yep, life is all about taking one day at a time

x

Re: What`s your favourite TV Shows

@Bella1978 Oh yeah I am an emotional eater too. It doesn't help the self esteem too much but it's not the worst thing I could be doing. I only just discovered the forums a week ago too. It's been great having people check in and just to have a chat. Tomorrow I'm going to try to do 3 things- 1 self-care thing, 1 health and well-being thing and 1 physical health thing. Hopefully I'll do them all! I hope you have a good day tomorrow and that you be kind to yourself. x

Re: What`s your favourite TV Shows

@CherryValentine If I am well enough, I love to read. I have days where I can't do that, but sometimes I find reading is the best medicine.

I don't really do anything else for self-care. If I'm not well, I can't do my cardmaking, and more often than not I don't have the energy to go for a walk, though that's partly because of my physical issues.

It doesn't help that I am so stressed about cars right now, that I'm slowly losing my ability to function, but hopefully we'll get my car situation sorted soon!

Sorry to hear you are so stressed and struggling to function. I hope your car situation works out soon. @WideWhale320 I also really enjoy reading. What sort of books do you enjoy?
