Something’s not right

My sibling

My sibling

i have a sibling who has their own mental health issues who has also been having a hard time lately my mother wants them to have another assessment done by a psychiatrist only problem is the only psychiatrist avaliable in the whole city i live in is mine the next city with someone avalaible is 3 hours away. so naturally my mother asked if my sibling could see mine i said yes because what else was i meant to say but i am really actually uncomfortable with this. i cant even say why but i guess it is because i am so private about this stuff with my family and it is like they are intruding on my space hugely. how do i deal with this the appointment is made already.

also my psychiatrist has not said he will continue to see my sister but my mother is hoping he will and i really dont feel ok with that at all.

Re: My sibling

@Eden1919- it'd actually a conflict of interest, and not really appropriate. Can your psychiatrist advocate on your behalf? You have rights and feelings in this situation too.I understand that they might be hard to express, so let your psychiatrist negotiate on your behalf. That's a tricky situation.

Re: My sibling

its too late for that they have already made an appointment and it is going to happen i just dont know how to come to terms with it. i feel so uncomfortable with it so much that i didnt even realise how much until recently. i guess i just have to suck it up.

Re: My sibling

@Eden1919 can you discuss it with you psychiatrist in your next appointment? It sounds like it is very relevant. And you shouldn't have to suck it up.

Maybe but i am not sure how to bring it up plus i already have a lot i need to tell him that i am not even sure i would have the time it does feel relevant though but also if i did tell him and he didnt do the assesment then i would get in so so so much trouble with my family
