So the other half is getting carer's counselling because of me :(

So the other half is getting carer's counselling because of me :(

I feel like I've let her down. Tomorrow I go in with her to be introduced to her new carer's counsellor through a carer's organisation. I feel really scared this is going to turn into a witch-hunt on their behalf and that everything I do from now on will be scruitinised by 'them'. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she's getting counselling and stuff, but why the heck do I have to be involved in it? I've been down this road before with my ex... he had carer counselling and it turned into a giant finger pointing session where each little time I had a bout of mental ill health, I was blamed for putting pressure on the relationship.

I'm scared and bricking it!

I just burst into tears because I am so stressing about tomorrow. My Mrs assures me it is just to help her when I am unwell and she can't cope and also to get help through NDIS when it comes into this area. Helping with paperwork and stuff, like applying for the carer's allowance and accessing respite when we need it.

I'm still scared though.

@Queenie it is totally understandable that you are feeling scared and yuck about this. I wish there was something I could say that would make it feel less scary but I don't think there is. It sounds like your Mrs super loves you though and she is probably right in saying that the two of you will need support trying to navigate the NDIS. From what I've heard, it's a bit of a nightmare. I really hope tomorrow goes ok and that you can feel that this is a collaborative effort where your voice is heard.

Well the appointment is in an hour and I am packing it. I didn't sleep last night and feel and look awful. I realised I forgot to take my antidepressant yesterday morning and I was hit with wave after wave of dizziness all night coupled with my vertigo. Crawled to the shower at 1am to let the water wash over me in the hope that would help. At least I remembered it this morning!

I am so nervous about what this appointment is going to encompass. I am downright scared.

Well I needn't have come along at all! I'm not involved in the process at all. It is a witch hunt as I suspected! There's all these brochures and posters for carers retreats, so I think they're going to send me away so the Mrs can go on one. I feel utterly shit! Am I really THAT bad?????
