Suicide affects my thoughts

@Evie1 I like you even more fellow cat person. I had a kitty, but she had behavioural issues such as striking and biting. I tried absolutely everything, but my stress was affecting her, so I had to surrender her just recently. I miss her very very much.

If your cats name is not too distinctive, can you share that with me? Is she a pure bred or moggie. Sorry to keep calling her she if it's a boy. Tell me about your cat? Is she/he with you right now on your lap, giving you cuddles?

His name is Cupid I'm at my grandmas house he lives with my mmm in going to my mums tonight to be with my cat he's a domestic white shorthair cat and he an indoor cat sits in the window and sleeps next to me

@Evie1 how beautiful is your boy! I love his name. Most white cats need to be indoors don't they? Have you seen the Especially Cats thread in this forum? Someone else told me about it. Cats are often quite perceptive to our moods and a previous cat of mine used to lick my tears away. My recent kitty was so aloof at times, she either ignored me when I was crying or looked at me like I had 2 heads

@Evie1 I hear you. It's a pretty shitty feeling isnt it? I struggle with it too. Is there anything you like doing that makes you feel better?

@Evie1 what about other things for yourself? Are you still studying-I saw that in another thread-community services right? Its sounds like the one I am about enrol into. I'm a nurse usually. I work in a very busy emergency department. So I have been on both sides of the mental health fence. Since being so unwell I really developed a deeper understanding of what patients are going through. It makes my work even more meaningful now to help others who are struggling. Only a week ago I was in a really bad way, like yourself. But this forum helped immensely, and I used every support service I know that worked for me. Have you rung anyone today for a support? When did you last get to Head Space? Have you tried mindfulness exercises at all. Sometimes I find them really helpful in calming my mind of all the racing thoughts and they help me regulate my breathing. I can give you the name of some good apps if you want.

I've put study aside to focus on my treatment and recovery going to headspace tomorrow tell me some apps I can use I've rang lifeline and beyond blue

@Evie1 I am really pleased you're getting help outside of the forum. Call them again later if you need to ok? That's what they are there for. Some apps I currently use are Stop, Breathe, Think; Smiling Mind, a really, really good app with lots of different mindfulness exercises. Also I use Solfeggio to help me get to sleep. I am sure on this site there is a mindfulness thread as it has proven benefits in reducing stress and anxiety. Have you ever tried it at all? I try to do at least one exercise a day. When I went for surgery 2 weeks ago, it really helped with my anxiety as I used it about 1hour before I went to theatre. I pretty much had no anxiety at all
