I'm happy when a Praying Mantis lays it's eggcase on my front screen door (baby Mantis come out).

For some reason several Praying Mantis decided that my front door is their favourite place for laying their eggs (egg cases).

@Adge, it's probably that one mantis put their egg case there a couple of years ago, and the next year some of their babies came back to their old nest site. 🙂
I've had paper wasps do that... those are less welcome at the front door. Ouchie.

Yes I have seen some baby Mantis (just out of egg case) @Shaz51 I escorted them to a nearby Grevillea bush.

The others mostly came out, when I did not see them.

I hope they survived & made it to a bush.

Yes @Smc Maybe it is their childhood nesting place (where they hatched out).

No I would not welcome a Paper wasp's nest on my front door either...
