Check the news please (recall medication)

Check the news please (recall medication)

not sure if this is allowed but a medication I'm assuming a lot of us use has been recalled. I know we are not allowed to type medication names but just go on a news site and you will come across it.

Re: Check the news please (recall medication)

I saw this on the news @Former-Member, and thought the word 'tamper' was an interesting choice in words.

It's not possible to know why someone would tamper with meds for mental illness. It could have been a mistake, or it could have been trying to use active incrediant to sell on the blackmarket, or something else completely different.

I read the police where involved. Who knows. We will know more in the next few days. I just hope I can find the box they came in so I dan exchange them

Re: Check the news please (recall medication)

if you can't find the box, perhaps your prescribing doctor can help. They should have a rough estimate of how much you should have gone through.

Hopefully over the next few days, we'll see what's happened. But it might also take a while with investigations too.

Sadly I'm not a regular scheme on them as I get anxiety when my bipolar is behaving. Also don't want to fork out $80 see a doctor for a subscription. Fingers cross I find it.

Re: Check the news please (recall medication)

You could probably take the medication you have to the pharmacist (which is what is suggested) without the box @Former-Member. It seems as if it's a certain dose and brand, and it looks to be being treated as a theft as the TGA statement says some of the meds were swapped with other medications. A pharmacist should be able to work it out I would imagine.

That's a really good point @CheerBear. @Former-Member your pharmacist will probably have a record of your prescription too, and yes there is a particular brand and dose so hopefully they can easily replace it.
