A decision to make

A decision to make

So I have a big decision to make. It's huge in fact .Basically I will be putting myself in a very vulnerable position, and I don't know if I have the courage to do this. Once done there is no turning back. The problem is that I dont have all the facts yet, and it will be a few more weeks before that happens. So I find myself stuck. Glued to the chair or bed,This is what happens when I feel overwhelmed. I cannot at this point say what this is about, so probably does,nt make any sense to anyone.

@Former-Member @Samara Jacques, @NikNik @Rick

Good to see you, @Rick

Appleblossom, you have a good support happening here for people.....then another little surprise about you surfaces and i can imagine your little cute smile when i read your words. You keep me going girl!

i will need to re read all messages again. I feel like i want to block my ears and cry. Hi friends, your my real friends. You know me.

I went back to see ?.......my Psychotherapist today. And she still loves me. And she spoke to me affectionately.

She agreed with me that my Dad pushed me to sell my home. He used me in a bad bad situation. I was laughed at by many people who didnt know.

She agreed with my dreams.

Im okay after all! My parents are no good.. i am good.

I am good. Mum is an extra extra no good Mother.

Re: Dealing with a problem creatively

Please dont cry @PeppiPatty unless you really have to. Maybe if your meds are high and you can still have a cleansing cry occasionally that is ok.

Betrayals are hardest to bear when trust is broken by those closest. In some way it easy if there is some enemy or dangerous man "out there". I am glad you are on a roll with your therapist. It is important to know when there is affection, or joke, or camraderie.

My computer froze and I had to pick up son and do fried Tuna steak and salad to compensate for his day at the junk food palace.

Sorry about the surprises, it just keeps coming. I am probably manic. My different stories about MI or MH are personal and social. Its not all about me, but this feels like right timing to talk to the right people. I can have more "real" conversations with "mad" people. In some ways I have found many swans and hooked in with good people in music and lit/theatre. I know there are people who are brilliant and gorgeous souls who havent had as much pain as many of us but are still sympathetic. But this is my passion, how can it not be.

It was the same as when my baby boy was in the High Dependancy Unit, but I had to be there for him, not just be me. I had the best conversations with kids (in various stages of psychosis), that I had in years. I visited first psych ward when I was 10 so it feels normal. I try to be polite with "nice" people, talk about the right things, not mention the 2 dreaded "S" words that have such a sting, but being nice doesnt have the same zing as being direct and shooting straight.

When my brother looked happy I was happy. If he was going to score or grow some vegetable matter, he wasnt hurting people, my mother should have let go her self righteousness, but I guess she didnt feel she had anything else. I got too paranoid so I had to stop and I did not like the way drugs made people hurt each others like alcohol did. Generation gaps are very sad. I understand the D & A talk about self medication. I stopped when I was 21, had one joint a few years later with hubby to prove I wasnt a narc, but pretty much thought purity of fresh food and fresh air the best thing for kids.

I probably would not have survived if it had not been for taking on my eldest girl. Though It didnt end up being pretty, she gave me a focus away from all the deaths. Gotta keep going. Feed, clean, feed clean. Nothing is more pressing than a child in need, then another and another. There is a bonus in just surviving cos then i would not have put together the stuff about dad and the pedophiles. So it is not just schizophrenia after all. There is always a reason for stuff.

Go really gently with yourself. Sometimes there is not point in confronting but if your mother has betrayed you so badly before, just be careful around her. It makes me sad all this unresolved stauff between mothers and daughters, but it doesnt get better for pretending it is not there.

Re: Dealing with a problem creatively

hi @PeppiPatty,

Im kind of hoping that those tears are ones of relief, of understanding that you are so so good! that it is other people who did wrong by you. So glad that you still had that connection with the psychotherapist. I think i read somewhere that you're looking into kineasiolgy? i have to look it up, not sure what it is! 😄

I'm sorry that your dad pressured you out of your house and that your mum is just plainly not nice. I have been betrayed by my father.. and my mother was just manipulative, cruel and spiteful to me, unless she wanted money... until my ex partner decided enough was enough and we ceased all contact with her (he didnt want her around our kids and i couldnt object to that) but im not upset about that now. i couldnt go back to the way things were with her now, i have enough to deal with.

Hope your day is good today!

Re: A decision to make

Well I decided not to go ahead with what was offered. It was simply too much and I felt relieved, so I guess that says a lot.
I spoke to the facilitator of the new course and aired my concerns. She was very understanding, and brought a few things to my attention.
Lastly I rescheduled an appointment with my psychologist. Taken me three weeks to get back in. See her the end of next week.
So after all that I have to recognise that as I deteriate and feel overwhelmed by everything I need to take a step back. By cancelling all appointment it's a step back, but in the wrong direction. I am cutting out the very people that can help me the most. Still have to work on this.

Re: A decision to make

Hi, i think its great that you are reaching back out again, but i dont necessarily think it was a bad thing to take that step back. After all we all need our own individual space at times to work out what we need from the people around us a bit more.. or even just abreak from the 'help' ...

I hope your appt with your psychologist goes well at the end of the week. I have got myself back in for this week too (i've not been able to afford to go). and im nervous but glad to be going too.

Good luck,

lj

dearest @lisajane @Appleblossom @Chris

Remember @Former-Member when you were writing to me about spending a day a week with a beautiful indigenous girl (grandmother asked me for assistance ) It needed to stop because her mother is moving but at the time i telephoned the right people for me to get permission ?

well, i also spnd time with a couple of teenagers in crisis, i got permission from the local community centre in " Street to Home"

Program and drove their father to church tonight. It was awesome. It was a church I really identified with.... the pastor was talking about focusing on your posture with God to face with money problems.....

..i help them stay on the program with education....i took their father to a church for adults in crisis in the city tonight

Re: A decision to make

Dear @Chris

I started researching the DBT programs and they are huge commitments. Not things we should just obey and sign up for mindlessly ... hmmmm ..... We are all into mindfulness now .... From what I can see you are making decisions and reflecting on outcomes .. I think that is very healthy .. they should not be life threatening decisions to pull back or go forward regarding appointments and therapy. How can we make mindul decisions without feeling some freedom to test the waters and see what we are commiting to?

I hope it works out for you ... whatever happens .. Yes we are all better off with people who have our REAL best interests at heart.

@Former-Member

I took on board what you wrote a little while ago about what your work did. That situation became difficult and i stepped away from it for a little while ago.

At the same time. I saw father, my age going through a very difficult time. I spent several months getting boundries down and then i spend time with two of his teenage children ...they are 16.... once a week. I spent more time getting boundries down and then, laybyed clothes for his teenage daughter. Very cheap. She and i are friends and her brother and I ........he smiled at me last time I visited.

if they can we talk about going to college next year. I wonder if the teenage girl will but am 50/50 with the teenage boy.

I have told the people at the crisis centre nearby...just so everything is passed. Its our conversation @Former-Member, you gave me confidence, odf something that was on my mind. I can only do ......very little because of my own daily wellbeing.

I just am always focusing on boundries.
