Does anyone else start getting really down in May? As long as I can remember - may is a difficult month for me, long before the Major Depression label. It spirals into slothful living and sleeping the winter away. Even though I love autumn weather, on the inside I just want to go to sleep and bide my time 'till spring comes - when I know i get a burst of energy back. Lots of people suffer SAD, and for some its serious. Its a well documented condition, and in my case compounds existing depression & anxiety, the tipping point. I noticed here on the forums last year that a lot of us struggled to get through winter, even here in mild Australian weather. What, if any are your winter blues symptoms in the winter?

Good for you @Maggie. Get a pedometer or install an App on your phone. Pacer is free. Then you can monitor your steps and distance walked.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
Help! Just found myself trying to sort my girls craft stuff (not sure how I got there, was looking at myself from out of body), was sorting through her colouring in pensils dazed - frozen in time - feeling through them with my fingers gently - as if trying to absorb the last time she touched them. It hurts 😢
I don't know if I can do this ❤

That's got to be hard @Former-Member. How about you keep a few bits and pieces of hers and give the rest away. Imagine that they will be well appreciated and bring enjoyment to someone else. Do it when you are ready. That may not be today or tomorrow.
Just tag us if you decide to start a new thread.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
Can you ask someone to come and do that part for you @Former-Member ? The friend who drops in occasionally, or someone else from the church you go to now ? Maybe someone you work with ?
If not, it might make a difference just to have one of those people there with you when you make the attempt again.
Are there packers-for-hire in your area ? Removalists often provide that service, for a fee, and it might be worth asking them to come and pack your girl's things for you.

@Former-Member That's just got to be hard. Sitting with you if it helps, but if you need to be alone, I get it.

Re: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
Thanks @soul, it is hard, and why i'm reaching out. I have no doubt i'll "keep a few bits and pieces" of my girls things. Just deciding what lol Yikes!
@Faith-and-Hope, hi how are you (know its a hard time of late). Means a lot that you still talk to me. Your clear head, practical ideas, wealth if experience, heart and empathy...
You said "Can you ask someone to come and do that part for you?" My first response is to say 'no, there's nobody' but I will think, and separate hard things for later. My friend who does drop by regular is overwhelmed herself atm with her husband in hospital - hip replacement and other troubles. Her last visit she was in tears and not a good listener, and would rather tell me how to do things than walk beside me in the doing. Shes always rushed too. Everyone's so busy. I'm not good at asking for help, more the giver I guess. I had asked the church ladies for practical helps - practically begged just to have one of them sit with me a couple hours each for a planned garage sale last year - "get back to you" they'd say, but don't. Or theyd rather spend 20min telling me how busy they are. Actually hurts to ask - guess it bumps into my unresolved abandonment / rejection issues, adding to the load. So, i do tend to not ask. Maybe they'll offer but honestly don't feel emotionally safe with anyone I know irl (what if they hurt me when I'm so vulnerable? tread the things I hold dear into the mud? Insult my soul? Discount my feelings. Think its the cPTSD - my brain switches and I lose much needed momentum trying to solicit help. And It's embarrassing too, letting them see my house and me like this. I Haven't met anyone yet who doesn't judge, make rude comments, or go gossip about me. Someone i work with would not be good. You said "It might make a difference just to have one of those people there with you when you make the attempt again" 😮 I couldn't ask that, be busy while someone's here. Dont like strangers (professional packers) touching my girls things, or mine, but a removalist will be much needed when I've sorted things.
I know my girls things are no longer needed by her, letting go is hard, so I need to figure out the best memory reminders. Trusting ppl to help me with this is... Maybe my sister if she ever has the time & heart to bother. I do have a friend 2hrs drive away that had heart, and might be helpful when I'm ready. But honestly, I tend to need to do it myself - just me and my girl. Oo, she just told me "I'll help you decide what to keep mum" love it when she pops in like that.
This is the big problem I have and I half expect will be my undoing in moving this year, again, but spring is when I give it my best shot, feels closer each time. Actually more hopeful this time round 💜🌻🍀💕
@Adge, nice to see you. This grief business certainly is hard. I'ill check in your thread soon, wondering how youre health is and Excited how your 4 wks holiday off work is going. 🌟💜🐦
@Maggie. Thanks for your checking in before, reeeeealy do appreciated that, even when I can't answer - sometimes I just don't know what to say sorry. I tagged you and @-Rayne- because I think how I was feeling had something to do with DID (other me's) but maybe just disassociated, or simply a grief thing... 'normal' Wish the moderators would step in more with posts like this, help MH understanding (yes, I know they're busy), @Appleblossom might know (how ya going Apple?), its just a bit scary here on my own after that, not being present.
❇❇❇
I have started a new thread to address this 'decluttering' - sorting through stuff. called "SPRING,clean,declutter... as this is the season I really get serious about that because springboard is my best chance for change. Thanks you all, I'm trying. 💜💜💜
Yikes, just heard a car out front, and men talking, and my anxiety had shot through the roof. And the RE had already tx me for prospective buyers wanting to inspect. I've put her off 'till Friday while I make inside look a little more normal. Should I give her a key?
Not sure how often I can check in, or reply properly. This had taken over an jour yo type, my brain drain 😞 lol Think it makes sence. Doesn't help only having mobile phone to type with
We'll get there - thanks guys 🌷🌿
