Rock bottom

Life becomes so hard when nothing seems like it's going to look up anymore. I'm so overwhelmed with emotions that everything I say or do seems to just create more issues for me. I now understand why people look to death, it has that sort of feeling where you won't have to deal anymore, it gives you that hope of being able to escape. I've just dug myself a hole and have no idea if I can make it out in one piece.

What even is normal? I haven't felt normal in so long now that I don't even know how to act or feel.
I guess I just need to know I'm not alone and that things can get better.

hello @Former-Member

the world can be overwhelming, existence, trying to work out how we fit becomes too hard.

sleep seems so inviting, peaceful and yes if sleep comes naturally we find some relief.

The part of this that really sucks though is that when we feel at our worst, that pure sleep that we seek does not play fairly.

What is normal? No answer. The word should be removed from the dictionary. I can think of a few others to get rid of at the same time.

How about perfect? nice?

@Zoe7 @outlander @Former-Member ?

Re: Rock bottom

it's nice to know that I'm not the only one.

I have received professional help and I suffer from anxiety and depression. I guess sometimes some situations just overwhelm me. I need to learn to step away and just take a time out and I guess I struggle with that. I panic and try and fix whatever the situation and make it worse because I don't have a clear mind. It's something I am trying to work on but it's just so hard to stop and take a breath because the anxiety sets in.

Re: Rock bottom

@Former-Member nope your not alone at all- im sure theres many people with the same experiences as well

@Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @Mazarita @CherryBomb@NikNik could probably give you some more advice and support as well on how to deal with these thoughts as well

i find with anxiety and depression- i have it myself- lot of situations overwhelm me as well. i try to take it one step at a time and sometimes break it down into thoughts and sections so it doesnt seem so seem so much to deal with.

when trying to deal with heaps of situations and things that overwhelm us its hard to solve the issue without having a clear mind

i would encourage you to keep seeing a psychogist to help you through as external support as well

Re: Rock bottom

Hi @Former-Member ..... welcome to the forums ..... and you are definitely not alone in any of this .....

Together with professional support, the forums offer a place to chat about what is going on with you where people have similar lived experiences, so they can relate without judging, and can share what has or hasn't worked for them. Just finding empathy and understanding can make a big difference to how you manage.

Re: Rock bottom

@Former-Member. Just yesterday I posted almost the same thing. How attractive suicidal thoughts can sometimes be. Especially when we are already struggling with depression and anxiety & then another stressor comes up. SometimesiI'd love to just sleep for a few weeks months or years until all of this stress just goes away.
But I have had times where I've managed my depression and anxiety to the point that I've started living life again.
But I decided to start drinking again, & isolating myself from friends and family. Thus I've slipped back again. We all make mistakes. ButiI'm seeking help again.
You are not alone.
