The Weekly Friday Feast

Goodnight @Bimby2 and everyone .....

@Former-Member you made me giggle again. Somehow the idea of describing Australia as the land down under when we were travelling back from the only continent on Earth that is under Australia, struck me as very funny.

By the way, I heard this on the news today: http://www.history.com/news/century-old-fruit-cake-found-in-antarctica-is-almost-edible Apparently a 100-year old fruit cake was recently found in Antarctica. Awwwww...if we had gone just a few weeks earlier we might have found it. For some reason the idea of a bunch of Forumites sharing a fruit cake together in Antarctica with our mermaid moderator and her new pet polar bear strikes me as highly amusing.

My mother used to make fruit cakes for Christmas time @Phoenix_Rising. She would soak the dried fruit in rum or brandy for about a week and then bake the cakes around early November. She gave one to all the kids on Christmas Day. Sometimes I didn't start eating mine until a few months later. I'm sure it improved with age. Maybe it was the alcohol in it.

Sure will miss that cake this year 😔

Thank you @Bimby2 ...... 🤗💕

Hi @Phoenix_Rising

Perhaps "Down Under" wasn't the most appropriate synonym for Australia, given we were in Antarctica! 😛 However, I'm glad I bring a little humour to your life! 😉

Yes, the idea of all the Forumites sharing a 100 year old fruit cake with this Little Mermaid, in Antarctica, paints quite a comedic picture!

HELLO ALL AND WELCOME TO THE FRIDAY FEAST!

Once again, I am thrilled to go on another adventure with you all! Last week we drank hot chocky, went skating and skiing in Antarctica - boy was it freezing! Also, a certain little turtle was able to swim all the way to the Arctic and fetch me a Polar Bear - who is with me ready for our next adventure tonight! So, that bring us to the question: What destination are we jet-setting off to tonight forumites??

@BlueBay @Phoenix_Rising @Queenie @Former-Member @MDT @Jacques @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope @soul @Bimby2 @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Former-Member @Mazarita @Owlunar @oceangirl @Boo13 @Appleblossom @Ant7 @TheVorticon @ohanais @Zoe7 @Former-Member @Former-Member @Determined - Hopefully these tags all work properly! (Note ** Last week I was experiencing a bit of a brain freeze with all the snow, and my tags didn't tag properly - a bit of a silly mermaid I was! )

Good evening all, steaks were high in the Darcy household with home grown beef tonight.
