The Weekly Friday Feast

2 cats .. no dogs ... @Shaz51 but you will never believe this .. I accidentally got dog food ... felt like a real dill ...

but yesterday my neighbour with a dog .. said she accidentally got cat food ... so we agreed to do a swap .. life is crazy huh! Feels better with all the right food going to the right mouths.

@Former-Member I can feel with you re oven ... I have gone with 2 sessions of 2 years without oven ... I managed for with jaffle iron and slow cook . and dont even have a microwave ... I decided about 10 years ago not to replace the microwave ... as could not trust son to be healthy with it ... but now he has grown up enough .. to make healthy choices on his own ... yay

My lot have all left momentarily .... so I'm here till they get back .... loving the future dinner ideas .... ❣

If you can manage an electric stock-pot @Former-Member .... I think I have worn out three of them .... so handy to just throw stuff in and come back to a made meal ....

@Former-Member and @Decadian use vegie soup as a meal base often too, I think .... sometimes for me it's a packet of mixed frozen veg and a couple of stock cubes as a "raid on the housework", then come back and throw in some pasta or rice, meat from a supermarket cooked chook, and ta-dah .... ❣

Next best part is the washing up .... put some boiled water in it from the kettle with a squirt of dishwashing liquid and turn it back on for a while .... self-cleans .... 😏 ..... rinse and dry in the morning ....

Another stock-pot fave .... packet of frozen Chinese veg, noodles, stock cubes, oyster sauce for serving ....

Yum .... and low effort.

we had all our family here for the whole weekend , by monday morning they were all gone , WOW , it was so quiet and the house was messy -- 8 of them , total 10 in the house

will have to break out slow cooker but I'm not that good at it. I have a microwave that goes 24/7 in this house. Think I'm just feeling sorry for myself and need to toughen up a bit. I went for about 2 years without an oven when I was living with ex, then rented and had an oven that was great now back to no oven. Oh well 'thems the breaks'.

I probably need to get a toilet you can sit on and flush probably first but that's a whole different story 😝😁
