The Weekly Friday Feast

The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Chat soon 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Former-Member, love will find a way, focus on the important stuff, share the load, get out of the house often, have your own personal private space to retreat. Not that I'm experienced as a mum but was big sister of x5 siblings. You're the mum. Stay calm💜

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope and @Former-Member 🙂
I won't have reception or internet access... not sure if this is a good or bad thing.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank you @Former-Member, it is really tough the person is 24 and has had a failed attemp on their life, which destroyed their voice box, so they can't speak literally. it is difficult to find services where you don't need to speak.

they keep reliving a vehicle accident where their partner passed away, she is blaming herself for her girlfriends death. i have suggested suvivors guilt program, but it has not worked, i have tried CBT, DBT, ECT, muscle relaxation techniques, breathing excercises, focus on positive things, but none of them has worked, she is SH so badly, i just don't know how to help her.

Sorry for bringing the tone down, i am thinking their has to be something to help.

i am sorry i was unable to continue to attend tonight, i just can't find the time. sorry.

hugs to all, good night, thank you all for the words of encouragement.

Jacques

Yep yep @Former-Member, good cheer, Not really drinking, got my humour from my dad, he jokes about everytjing. I hope my back comes good soon, not use to upper back pain - can't even sit without pain (re head & arm weighy), laying down a lot & strong pain meds. Ah, just realised why I'm jovial tonight 😄 😄 😄
Thanks.
@NikNik, enjoy silence when you're away, recharge💤

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Jacques maybe you could ring the sane helpline to ask what services would be available to someone who can't speak & then if you have some concrete information she might be more receptive?

Tip: I tried positive thinking when my mental ill health first became debilitating - it is actually counterproductive.

She may be suffering from PTSD?

@NikNik - yeah, it isn't the best look - best to put on those yoga tights & crop top or sports bra! (top on top unless you are super body confident!) I think not having reception will be awesome - although I get scared if I don't have credit for a phone call - a break from social media & internet is always good though

Namaste,

Anna
