The Weekly Friday Feast

The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Chat soon 🙂

Re: Friday Feast

@Dimity a good topic!!! i am sort of feeling better now and very hungry!

last night I was quite sick and couldn't eat much today 😞

But trying to see the positive, it was maybe a break for me to catch up on some rest and i feel better pretty quickly. Hopefully tomorrow I can eat a full meal again.

We have a public holiday on monday, and i was a bit annoying to the trauma program trying to pester them to lock down a time to see me so I wouldn't have to go into the long weekend without knowing. Now I am over it, and will just let the cards fall as they may. They are taking time to assess me.
Hope the gnocci was excellent.

Re: Friday Feast

I think my first ever thread was to reply to someone who wanted to know about something @Shaz51

Re: Friday Feast

@EternalFlower the gnocchi was nice thanks. Hope you're able to eat something tonight.

I think anxiety can build pretty quickly when we're in the dark about something, at least it does for me. Perhaps you'll hear Tuesday.

I used to prune the roses on the Queen's Birthday but people a/ laughed at me and b/ said it's too early.

Re: Friday Feast

@Dimity is there a connection between holidays and pruning roses? I think its nice that you had roses!

Thanks for the optomisim, i am sure i will hear soon and theyre trying to work with me, i am trying to redirect myself in anyway i can

not knowing can be hard and triggering

I wanted to make a soup tonight, maybe I still will, i'm not sure if i have the energy. Perhaps i will just have pasta and call it a day lol

Re: Friday Feast

I think it's just a memory peg @EternalFlower . Like planting Daphne cuttings on Christmas Day and sweet pea seeds on St Patrick's Day. When I was working it might have been easier to find time on the long weekend.

Re: Friday Feast

@Dimity so interesting i did not know that! was it nicer having public holidays when working? I haven't worked for many years any i dread public holidays 😞 When i was in my 20s we would have bbqs and social events, but still for some reason it triggers me as a longer stretch of time.

I need to work on this, so that I can actually enjoy it. I did watch a netflix rom com with Jlo, it was terrible, but I really enjoyed it. Office Romance it's called 🙂

I keep having these meetings with the public hospital specialised clinic, and I sort of seem to just put everything on hold waiting for them.

The reason I do this, is because they don't let you see other therapists, so while trying to get in with them, I can't have any other therapy at all. So I felt annoyed they were keeping me in limbo and holding me back from therapy. But I can see now that they are doing it to properly create a program for me and do it gradually. So I gotta chill out. I will make my soup tomorrow

Re: Friday Feast

I was exhausted all the time I was working @EternalFlower and really hankered after the rare breaks that came along.

That bean soup looks good. I eat a lot of beans and lentils. The other night I made soup that was mostly pumpkin and red lentils.

My only experience of public hospital outpatients clinics is waiting over 18 months for different appointments. Happened several times with different things. Except I think it was shorter to be checked out for epilepsy after a fall, maybe 3 months.
