The Weekly Friday Feast

The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Chat soon 🙂

Lovely to see you @Former-Member

Dear @CherryBomb I also love that there is such a thing as genuine Thanksgiving Feast ...and I knew that you meant that cos of the food you posted ... I just made it explicit and loved the artwork.

Hey guys.
I'm here.
Not doing too well atm. Had a bad session with my psychologist yesterday. I finally said out loud what I have been struggling with. My thoughts of suicide. And because I waited too long to bring it up, we had to end the session not long after my confession.
Banana smoothie for tea. I need to eat something, so this'll have to do.

I'm here, just not too talkative atm sorry. 😯

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

There were some nasty arguments before I went into hospital & even in hospital, so I'm trying hard to keep the fights at bay. It seems when I'm completely honest everything just gets blamed on my mental illnesses & delusions of persecution. I am very tired. I have nothing left to give, but no where else to live & I don't think I would keep myself alive. Sorry, I'm not being very upbeat tonight...

The yoga helped. I went on Tuesday & today. I only slept 3.5 hours last night due to anxiety, therefore today was a big challenge & mind over matter. I slept for an hour or so when I got home. Today at the end of the yoga session - in the meditation part - the instructor asked us to think of three things we were grateful for - I thought of my cats, doing yoga & I can't remember the last thing! My memory has been terrible lately due to severe depression.

Anyhow, thanks for the company...

Glad you could make it @Crazy_Bug_LadyHow is your new baby going?

I hope your next session feels more productive and deals more with the SI.

I have not been doing much exercise recently ... so applaud your efforts @Former-Member .. mine is going to be just walking for a while.

@Crazy_Bug_Lady That must be frustrating about the end of session with the psychologist and it's understandable you might be feeling vulnerable. We are here for you as you, quiet or talking.

Heya @Crazy_Bug_Lady

Glad you're here. Smooties are yum!

It's great that you were honest with your psych, but yeah, a bugger to open up something and not have a chance to close it back down.

Are you ok? Got things in place to stay safe?

Thank you @Mazarita. You will get to Tai Chi. It feels like the world is never patient enough for people with mental illnesses. Thank you for the congratulations - it means a lot right now. I do feel better for it.....

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I have been struggling with constant thoughts of suicide for about 4 months now. Very constant. It is very hard. I understand. I hope your psychologist can help you find ways to manage.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Former-Member Thanks for the faith in me. I'm thinking I might go for an early evening class instead of the mornings for now. At least I've been out walking almost every day, that has given me a lift in mood over recent months.
