NEW EMOTIONAL DISCIPLINES

NEW EMOTIONAL DISCIPLINES

Hi All

I'm restarting my emotional disciplines to keep me in check as I'm feeling abit all over the place even though I'm coping (just).

One good thing, I have managed to put my selfcare as number one on the priority list and whilst I can be a bit obsessive about things in general I have turned that onto my self care. In otherwords I'm damned if I'm going back to the start of where I was 8 months ago!

I'm writing this on here as a bit of accountability - I intend to only come on here Monday & Thursdays to see how I have gone and for this week starting at the beginning with rage.

Have been feeling a bit ragey since I got my periods and all that peri menopause stuff! Getting a bit angry inside so I need to focus not only on controlling it for others (which I have been doing) but to make myself feel better - not just bottle it up.

I also have been feeling very "needy" lately and have been starting to depend on the forum which I dont like so thats why I am going to visit only 2 days a week.

Anyway will check in on Thursday to let you know how I have done.

Dont feel I need to reward myself anymore - getting through is reward enough now for me.

Take care all - signing out till Thursday.

Re: NEW EMOTIONAL DISCIPLINES

Glad to hear that you're looking after yourself @Change123! I wish I could remember but there are few other ladies that have spoken about menopause and MI. In fact, we're thinking of having a Topic Tuesday about it later in the year.

When I'm feeling hormonal (my monthly pattern) is to feel pretty needed and NQR. I've been told to use to your advantage and reflect on what your body is telling you.

See you on Thursday!

Re: NEW EMOTIONAL DISCIPLINES

Hi @CherryBomb@utopia@BlueBay@Shaz51@Luna and everyone else I have forgotten.

Well I made it - only just.

Rage kept that in check but I was very upset yesterday due to my wonderful workplace - playing mind games with me (explain in another thread) and I wanted so much to reach out to the forum because I was feeling so bad. So many times I came on and nearly logged a post but stopped myself. Wasnt in a good place and you guys actually helped me because I didnt want to feel worthless to you guys by not being able to get through it on my own.

I went to the shops so I wouldnt have to go home as I couldnt stop myself from crying but got my shit together and went home. Partner is really trying hard to be supportive to me - was trying his hardest to make me laugh and then gave me a great back rub which helped.

I treated myself this morning to a bad breakfast (choc donut) but I felt I deserved it!

Till Monday I will work on rage still and staying calm.

Re: NEW EMOTIONAL DISCIPLINES

@Change123. Firstly, a chocolate donut for breakfast, is still breakfast.
Sounds like you managed great self care today by taking yourself to the shops. And OMG -a back rub from hubby. How nice was that.
Sounds like you are putting in a lot of effort to keep your life as calm as is possible at the moment. Very impressed.
I would never judge you or think less of you because you may need to 'rage' here. We all have those moments here, & I've never experienced anyone being negative to my 'outbursts' of frustration. Good on you for managing it yourself. But know that we are here for you as well.
A big CONGRATULATIONS on looking after YOU today.♥♥
