14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi Karen @hiddenite,

Things sound pretty dark for you right now, Karen. You've been here before, and you've gotten through it. Can you please tell if you are safe tonight? You know that I, @Jacques and many other forums members worry about you.

Re: 14th year house bound

i know my angel, maybe try not to fight it, accept it for what it is, and try to distract.

Karen you have to fight, i fight everyday, i get strength from you every day, you are such a fighter, a wonderful person, it is tough.

Put the tablet down, go out the back and take some deep breaths, as many as you need to calm down.

Jacques I rang lifeline who told me to ring suicide line because they are not trained to deal with suicide.

I get it j...

I'm not my thoughts they are just thoughts and I don't have to act on them.

Good girl Karen, i am proud of you for reaching out, you know the numbers, you are using them, please be proud of yourself for that.

Sorry Karen i was not lecturing you, i was just reminding you that they are only thoughts.

Please remember i have the same dark thoughts Karen, you are not lone, and i know how hard they are to deal with.

Time for distraction, the frogs are singing tonight after all the rain, the birds today where digging in the garden for insects, and i found a whle heap of bees on some of my shrubs, they have not been around for ages.

The flies are getting bad, i think it is the humidity. the ants are taking all their eggs into the shed to protect them from the rain.

Miss Piggy is in seventh heaven, with all the rain her mud bath is nice and full, so plenty of mud baths for her over the next week.

The chooks are in their house now, but they where taking it in turns this afternoon standing on a box.

Dear @hiddenite

I cant get over how practical you are ... I had a car engine in my bedroom for a year and changed a motorcycle head and fixed a carbie but am not really a lover of mechanics ... it was just necessity ...

and you are so cheery giving hints to @Jacques and in the midst of it all being able to have a silly joke.

Yes you have a great sense of humour .... we do care about you and think about you when we are not online Stay safe.

I am upset that you get shuffled along from lifeline to suicideline. ... but that doesnt really help you.

My head goes a million miles an hour too ... not good for driving ... take care ... and I am not driving now and SO RELIEVED to have a break from 30 years of it ...

in the old days a mum just had to sit at home and the kids went to and from her ...but now with al this running around .... it is more dangerous ... I had that accident this year .... so I am concerned for you ... i know how easy it is ....

yet you dont want to lose your licence as your kids are young .... it is good for my son atm ... we are in different parts of the life cycle.

Somehow make your struggle worth something ... hang in there.

Thanks appleblossom I can't believe the attitude front the person at lifeline.

If having a multitude of dank thoughts doesn't count as a crisis I don't know what does.

Re: 14th year house bound

Please Karen, my angel, don't apologise, we all have up's and down's, you help me, i help you.

well the rain sfinished up here around 2pm this afternoon, but we are ment to be getting rain all week, i have never seen so much rain, the plants are loving it, especially the new ones i have planted.

Karen please don't feel like you need to talk, just sit with me, i have a sleeping bag and nice hot water bottle, would you like to share it with me?

Karen, we have so many garden lizards, they are all over the yard, i love standing at the back door, they sun themselves on the back ramp. sometimes they get stuck inside so i have to pick them up and take them outside, they are so hard to catch.
