14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hey j I'm glad you got the bolt off I wish I was there to help you. I'm jealous your having all the fun. I really miss working on cars. It's one thing having ocd really helps when building show cars:-)

The girls are asleep and I'm in bed.

Back to the driving tomorrow

Re: 14th year house bound

My sight is still no better. I'm scared driving the long distances everyday so the girls can go to the same school in the country town where we lived.

Last week I was having trouble keeping the car on the road. I don't know what to do. I was reading about some of the side effects of one of the medications I'm on is that it can effect eyesight. I have an appointment with my private psychiatrist on Thursday and I will have to talk to her about it . I know it's getting worse. I'm just scared.

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh Karen,

Please don't drive, is their no bus going ot the school? you can't move them to a closer school? Karen you can't go on like this, what if you have an accident? Please i would much rather you have you license temporary unavailable and you get better than you have an accident and harm yourslef or the girls.

Please would it be possible to go to an optomatrist? Specksavers do the test for free, but your private cover should cover the testing anyway, please Karen, i could not cope if something happened to you.

Re: 14th year house bound

I know it's really scared me going off the road a couple of times.

I can't loose my licence....

I've halved the medication that might be doing it, so l will see how I go tomorrow.

J I've had my eyes tested they are fine.

There just doesn't seem to be a reason why my eyesight gets blurred without warning.

To make it worse I'm driving a very big4wd with massive mud tyres. Hard to keep on the road at the best of times.I'll let you know how I go.

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh Karen i am really worried now, i know how frightening it is to loose your license, but what if something happened to you or the girls? i know you would not forgive yourself.

I do hope that the eyesight gets better, maybe if it is a lack of sugar, would it be possible to eat a bananna or some fruit to get your sugar levels up, please be careful reducing medication with out your doctors say so. it can be very dangerious.

Karen is their a need to have such a big car? maybe trading it in on a sedan or something? i have a Toyota Camry and it is great on the road.

Karen i am sorry for trying to tell you what to do, but i really worry about you and your health. you mean too much to me, i could not cope if something happened to you.

Re: 14th year house bound

It's ok Jacques you are being very sensible.

But if I say how bad it is I won't be allowed to drive. I'm just trying to figure out what is causing it. I know it's worse first thing in the morning on the way to school it's over 45minute drive one way.

The sun flickering also makes it worse.

I know messing around with my meds are bad but I need to fix this sooner than later.

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen please be careful, My angel, i know it is very distressing to be without a license, please, please if your sight goes blurry pull over at least and wait for it to pass. Can you promise me that? it does nto matter if the girls are a little late if thats what it takes.
