14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi both,

It seems like you have both logged off now - but I just wanted to write a post letting you both know that I'm thinking of you.

Jacques - it seems like you were a bit better prepared tonight, I'm glad some of the self care stuff worked (eg: going outside and taking a moment).

Karen - I recall a post where you said that you found out your private health insurance would cover you (I kinda recall that @Jacques & I were quite frustrated for you because it meant that you could have gone to a private clinic rather than a public mhu). Did something change?

Thank you both for pointing out to each other some of the options you can use tonight if any urges escalate -

Lifeline: 13 11 14 or Crisis Chat
Suicide call back service: 1300 659 467 or online counselling
Mensline 1300 789 978 (Jacques - have you tried this line before?)
If in immediate danger: 000

Thinking of you both tonight and hope you can get some rest.

Hi Nik

The private health insurance covered me for the month I was in the private facility in May.

But they have now said they won't cover me for pre existing until the full 12 months is up. At around one thousand dollars a day I cannot afford the go back to that facility.

Thanks for thinking of me.

Good morning my angel, oh yes the sun is shining and the birds are singing, and it is cool, aaahhhh so nice.

How did you get on last night? It took me a good couple of hours to stop shaking. And about another 30min to go to sleep.

Hi Jacques

Sorry it's been a long night I'm exhausted.

I've been at the house.

Feeling really low.

Sorry things are really disjointed.

What did you do today?

How are you?

Please tell me you are not going to watch the show tonight

Thinking of you

Hi My angel,

I didn't think you would ssleep last night, too much on your mind. I am glad you went to the house, i hope you got some time to sit on the pourch, grounding techniques.

I can understand Karen, with all you have been through lately, i so understand how low and disjointed you are, it is your mind and body protecting it's self, just give it time to calm down.

Well today, not a lot, i had to go pay some bills because mum was unable to, and i did some test fitting of the underlay to make sure i have it right. other than that, not alot.

I am ok, a little shaken from last night, and someone i used to know came past my home today, it has unsettled me a little bit.

Sorry Karen, i am going to have to watch, i have almost a compultion to, it takes it out of me, but i need to see how those places are like. Please don't watch Karen, you really need rest tonight, this will upset you.

Sorry i have been a little quiet today, just feeling like you a bit disjointed.
