My Hospital Stay

My Hospital Stay

So I arrived here at midday today.
Feeling a bit lost. Everything is so ... strange.
Not sure what to do now.
Starting to get a bit anxious. A bit teary. Trying hard not to think, or to feel.
Wishing I had a bourbon or some chips or junk food. Something to keep me busy and not feeling.

Re: My Hospital Stay

Slept badly @souk. Was worried about falling out of bed. Mattress is very thin. Not so good with my heavy body. Tomorrow someone is leaving and they will swap the beds around for me.
Went for a walk with the over 65 group this morning. Can feel it in my hips. Amazing how you really do lose it, if you don't use it.
I'm also taking the stairs as much as I can. Knees don't always like it. But I have to keep moving and trying to do some form of exercise while I'm here. Then more likely to continue that when I get back home.

Hi @utopia

I hope things feel better today - being with the oldies can't be that bad - they are just like me on the outside and also like a bit of fun as well - here's me with the oldies

Maybe oldies in hospital are a harder ask to enjoy but a private room - I am so used to being on my own a private room would be the best -

I really hope this trip into hospital will be better for you and they the people who are helping you can set you up with after-care as well - you sorta need a half-way place where you can get out into the world and yet still have some protection when you need it

Thinking of you Utopia and hope you can get outside for a smoke today

Sounds like it's a case of musical beds there @utopia.

If I could, I'd send you this one -

Walking with the oldies sounds fun. Did any of them beat you?

@Former-Member. I just put some chewing gum in my mouth, before I read your post. Lol.
@soul. Yes a few 'oldies' did beat me. One guy did double the laps the rest of us managed. But if I keep going on the group walk for a week - then I'll be able to join the regular & faster walking group. And I'd love that bed. Please deliver to an anonymous person at an anonymous hospital somewhere in Melbourne.
Thank you @Owlunar & @Faith-and-Hope. My leave privileges are back in place. So I can go outside when the smoko courtyard is closed. Veey important for someone like me who is a smoker and recently given up the booze.
@Zoe7. Love the Cocky and Butterfly. I did Art today as a group. Still working on my art tribute piece for Dr G Yunupingu who passed away a week ago. Had a voice like an angel.
I hope everyone is well and looking after themselves, as best as you can.
I realise I'm so lucky to have this place to come to when I'm sick. And the new psychiatrist wants to extend my stay by a further 21 days. Will wait and see what WorkCover says & how I'm feeling.
Thanks for the messages.
Enjoy your night. ♥♥♥♥
