Funny you should mention that @Shaz51 because I came across one of those a couple of weeks ago when I was out for a Sunday morning walk. Didn't see the variety that you did though.
I reckon the birds do know you're there. They are just ignoring you.

My brother took us out on his boat earlier this week to see some Christmas lights along some of the canals near where he lives (he lives on the poor and dry side lol) it was lovely sitting out on the water watching the sun go down. (We had fish and chips for dinner).
