FEELING VERY FRAGILE

FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Hi Everyone

Well this Easter was a real struggle.

After 8 months of not having them I got my periods again and it sent my brain a spin. The rage I had was almost unbearable but I kept it in and managed to work through it although my partner said everything I said was in a very confrontational way even if I didnt intend it to be but he was mainly understanding. Had a few little spats and that was it. Slept literally all day Friday, I was so fatigued, in pain and blown up from hormones - even my partner said my face looked white as a ghost.

Starting to worry that my moving forward the last 6 months or so has only been due to the fact that my periods stopped and worried now that they are back that things will go haywire again - really stressing about that.

Just trying to focus on being calm and relaxed today and keep taking one day at a time, can feel my anxiousness rising just a fair bit all over the place - bloody hormones!

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Oh no @Change123. Are you on anything for menopause. If it doesn't settle I'd be following that up. Last appointment my GP said that we can try lots of things to help settle my symptoms, with one of them being my moods. May be worth a chat.

Sorry your Easter wasn't what you'd hoped. Hoping things will ease a bit now. Also go easy on yourself because it's obviously not your behaviour as such but hormones driving it so try not to be a very at yourself. I know you'll work this out too. Best wishes 💜🤗

Hi @Former-Member

I'm seeing my GP for a script on Friday so will ask her then.

No I'm not taking anything for menopause, hasnt been too bad except for the hot flushes and fatigue - I do take multi b, and herbal supplements for fluid retention, magnesium and Vit D.

This is the 2nd time this has happened, this time they stopped from Sept to now and the year before they stopped in December till about the same time April- its almost as though my perimenopause is "seasonal""?? I know my body is just freaking out after not having them for so long. Will just take one day at a time.

Just not feeling very confident in myself.

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

god my brain is a mess just deleted a whole post, feeling very down and out of control plus its also my mothers birthday today which is another trigger.

I know what needs to be done logically - ie. take one day at a time and control one feeling at a time (rage and staying calm) but my brain is just spinning out. I think I'm just terrified that I'm going to mess up at home and undo all the hard work of last 6 months or so. I need to avoid everyone and my hubby when I get home so I dont say or do the wrong thing.

Dont need to respond, I'm just freaking out a bit and need to vent. The main thing that terrifies me is losing control after being incontrol for a while.

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

You know that's totally understandable @Change123. Why don't you write a letter to hubby before you see him to explain all your mixed feelings and being scared about going backwards. That way if things get hard he'll know how the calm you feels and is trying so hard not to go backwards and he might help you through......just a maybe. I guess it will be hard not to write it from the victim stuff you have talked about but from the person you would admire and respect because you've earned so much of that over the last months. I know you've got this.
PS I've just started hrt patches and I'm only in peri menopause but it's helping with sleep and night sweats and possibly my mood. I've only been on them three weeks.
Best of luck 💜🤗

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Hi @Former-Member and @Change123,

I'm nowhere near menopause yet, but your thread struck a chord with me because I'm feeling yuck today and I know it is mostly because my period is due in the next few days. I just wanted to say that hormones suck! They make big feelings so much bigger and harder to deal with. I have to say...just gaining the insight that I do tend to struggle more than usual when my period is due, has been super helpful for me. It doesn't "fix" the problem, but I find that recognising it definitely helps. Sorry I don't have anything actually useful to say - I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in dealing with darn hormones right now!

Thanks @Phoenix_Rising& @Former-Member

I know I'mprobably overreacting because of those damn hormones but thanks for your support.

Makes you wonder how much hormones have to do with our BPD at times?

At least it explains why I felts so bad last week with the added trigger of my fathers birthday, the family I have nothing to do with all have their birthdays in a week and half, so I have had my fathers, my sisters and my mums which are all triggers and now hormones!

Boy I think I have the utlimate test now!!!

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Hi @Change123
I know how you feel I'm going thru this atm. Can I recommend you look up "happy hormones". It's a naturopathic powder you take. It is meant to help with hormones and menopause. I've been taking it since nov last year and have noticed changes.
But always mention it to your gp. The forum is on Facebook and it's a closed group. It is miderated by a naturopath who has over 20 yrs experience in women's health and hormonal balance. It's a fantastic group.

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Thanks @BlueBay

I'm hoping after this initial one my body will settle down, I think its just because its the first one for a while.

But I'm definitely going to look into some herbal menopause stuff.

Thanks again and I hope things work out with your new pysch, sounds like this gp is much better. A good GP can make all the difference by doing what they are supposed to, thats what I'm find with the one I have now.

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Well its nearly the end of the day and I have made it so far, feeling a bit more in control now just need to stay calm for when I get home.

@BlueBay

Did you find those menopause happy hormones helped with sugar cravings - they are going through the roof atm - trying to make healthy chocolate slices with raw ingredients and organic cacao but its driving me crazy as I fixate on it and cant think until I eat something sweet, like now I have calmed down after eating a chocolate donut (thats sooo bad of me!) .

Hopefully I will settle down tonight after shopping.

PS feel like I need to apologise, I know in retrospect I'm not that bad but I was very panicked about losing control over how far I have come, I dont want to end up where I was before - so sorry if I have wasted people's time.

Re: FEELING VERY FRAGILE

Hi @Change123

Yes the 'happy hormones' powder helps with sugar cravings. I have noticed that my cravings aren't as bad as they used to be.

Don't apologise, it's okay. I totally understand where you're coming from.

Hugs
