Something’s not right

new meds

new meds

I started new meds during a hospital stay in february. I spent four weeks stabilising and adjusting to a low dose of the new meds and since then the psychiatrists plan has been to continue upping the dosage until i get to what he wanted me to take which is fine. But since the last increase I've been feeling incredibly sick and vomiting in the afternoons. my gp doesnt want to change the meds because its the psychiatrists plans but I dont have a telemed (live in the country) for another month. 😞 these meds also have only helped to a certain point and the increases havent helped my mood improve noticably. Have now moved to a new area for safety reasons and finding it so hard to adjust to being mum again and managing everything. There was supposed to be support

Re: new meds

Saw my dr about the side effects and she's given me some anti nausea stuff to take. They make me feel even more tired and feel off too though. Im so overwhelmed by all these medications that i'm on. I hate taking medications, ive never been on more than one medication at a time before and now... Dr wants to see how i'm going because its obvious my anxiety and other issues are getting worse again and has organised some welfare phone call checks or something for this weekend... but she still doesnt want me to go down off of the new medication until i see the psychiatrist. Life is so... hard! I'm not great with holidays and things either which doesnt help. But just try and focus on making them fun for the kids. So tired and not sleeping, which i know is making things worse. But the dosage of night medication that they want me to take knocks me out too much to hear my youngest at night, and he wakes a few times each night, so its not really an option now im home on my own. Nobody seems to be listening to me.

Re: new meds

Hey @Former-Member that is pretty tough.
When mine were younger and in fact even now, if I am going through a ridiculous disturbed sleep phase I let boys come to me..
Would that work for you? I figure I am going to be knackered anyway but if their sleep is easily restored by jumping in our bed..then hop on in..
If hubby and I get overcrowded we wander off to boys beds.
Mind you, mostly boys only want to come in when hubby away..
Would your little boy be able to come into your bed? It us always tricky as you might find him a bit of a wriggly worm and then you are even more tired. Just thought if it meant you didn't have to get up to him you might get a bit more sleep...
I totally understand the not wanting to be zonked with children at home still.. I tried taking a sleeps ng tablet and felt so awful that I haven't been ablwt to take it again.
Happy though with Horlicks and relaxation CD..happy to just relax in bed and if I wake up..well eventually I will go back to sleep...

Re: new meds

Yeah @Alessandra1992 my youngest will come and get in with me, after I go to him first, he generally wakes up crying in his bed. And he is a wriggler but still end up getting more sleep than sitting with hiim waiting for him to get back to sleep and then going back an hour later.

Re: new meds

Hey @lisajane,
Sometimes I short circuit everything and just say OK..who is sleeping in bed with me tonight?
They will grow up and not want to soon enough..and then I say happy days when you lads are 18 I will come and wake you up early and put my cold feet on you!!! Ha ha ha!
Funny thing is I often and and up between the 2 snorers, hubby and child..it is like two trains rumbling past each other..if only I could get them to synchronise...thank goodness we have king size bed 🙂
