Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

I used to do a lot of craft, including cross stitch. I have some unfinished ones. Used to enjoy knitting, crocheting, sewing. Still have my sewing machine. Plus other crafts.

Ive tried to get back into it, but can’t find my enjoyment in it anymore.

@Former-Member maybe you could start with doing just a few.minutes or teaching / doing it with your daughter? Just a thought.

I can't do any of those things, it's very clever to.make.something from scratch with your own two hands.

I used to like drawing too.

I remember sewing a whole outfit in primary school, overseas. A vest and skirt to match. Super cool lol.

🙁 that sounds sad that your mum can't help anymore @Former-Member . I remember you thinking about trying crochet again ages ago (maybe when we used to hang out in a nest together a bit). It might be like riding a bike if you tried again. I could always try and help from here too and there are others who crochet around also.@outlander picked it up and has been flying along with it
