Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

Big afternoon/evening for me @outlander and it's taking a bit to settle I think. Plus I moved the cats from the room they've been staying in to the room I'm sleeping in because I missed cuddling them and they've gone completely feral. They need some time to settle tonight too I think 😉 Thanks for asking ❤

I finished putting all my squares together today finally. I can work on the border now 🙂

That is great. Im sure its looking good as always! I finished my blanket tonight. I decided against the 5th yarncake. Im not sure on a border though. I kinda like it as it is.
What sort of border are you thinking for yours?

One is doing exactly that @outlander 😆 We don't have curtains in our house and this one (little Rocket) seems to think the ones here are the best play equipment ever!

Ooh I am looking forward to seeing yours! If you like it as is, is it worth thinking about a simple crab stitch edge? They don't look border-ish but seem to add a nice finish (I think).

I'm going to keep doing granny stitch for the border but with a few colours I've used in the blanket. At least that's what I've settled on for now. I keep going back to Pinterest and finding too many I like though!

I took a pic of it this morning before I finished. I'll add it below. Can t wait to have it all done!

I've given up smoking again! :face_with_rolling_eyes: So the ole hormones and snail paced metabolism are giving me curry. I had no ciggies but didn't change anything else and? put on a kilo!!!!! I was so tired tonight I fell asleep on the lounge and went to bed. 2 hours later I'm wide awake. Go figure @outlander.

Mm im not sure if even the crab stitch would work. Ill take a pic tomorrow in the sun and upload it. Im thinking ill save this one and eventually make some other things then donate them to a charity. Pop wants a double size blanket which i have the yarn for but id like to make some other things first like cushion covers @CheerBear
