Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

Thanks @outlander 😊 How is your crochet coming along?

I thought of Toby lots while I was making this little one @Zoe7 (which is how I came across a Toby in a dressing gown). I'd love to make one for you and then be able to have my own little Toby that I didn't have to do anything for haha! There aren't many patterns around for them but I'm pinteresting brushed crochet and brain is ticking away at how I could do it 😊🐶💗

I would love you to have your own Toby @CheerBear he is such a comfort to me every single minute of every day. I would be totally lost without him and as worrying as that also is it is such a wonderful thing for me to have.

I really hope you can find a pattern (or one you could adapt) to make your own Toby - I am going to have to go searching myself - I should make a pompom Toby ....think I will do that and show you when it is done - a little project for me to get into 🐶😀💜

Would love to see a pompom Toby! I think I will have a go at crocheting one - it'll be a nice addition to the creatures who live on my desk. I'll either have to adapt the schnauzer pattern or find a different one which is a little tricky as the ones I have found are not quite what I want. And probably work out where Maltese dogs (he's Maltese yeah?) ears are - I can't find them under all the fur haha!

Toby is a Maltese Shih Tzu but he is definitey more Maltese - doing floppy, fluffy ears would look really cool.

I can add a pompom Toby to my collection on my shelves - currently there is my turtle and unicorn that I look at every day to remind me of you and PR - sooo miss our little turtle Hon - I can only imagine how much you do too

Yep I do Hon - biiig ouch - one of the 3 amigos is missing and it is not the same - hurts heaps @CheerBear but it must be sooo much harder for you and I get that too

Goodluck with your Toby making and the rest of your day - I am going to try to drag myself to the pool and then begin my pompom when I get home (better check I have enough white wool first lol)
