Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

Wow, this island is getting crowded. @Spookytookims I super loved the bit about me sounding surprised that no-one knew I could fly. That is VERY me. Theory of mind isn't my strong point - if I know something, it's hard to remember that this doesn't automatically mean others also know it.

So...where are we at regarding how many of each personality type are on the island? Given the pace that this adventure is moving at, I can't keep up when I disappear offline for a day or two.

How do you do the pictures @Spookytookims? I super love them.

I'm so glad that @Former-Member is there looking after @CheerBear while she is sick. I don't really like the idea of her being alone...but I really super don't want to catch the strange rainbow-mohawk-inducing bug that she has either.

I'm not so sure about everybody hitching a ride on me...this involves more touching than I normally accept. I wonder if I need to carry @Former-Member etc in a basket tied to my shell with a rope (I'm imagining like a hot air balloon).

Yesterday I was reading the thread on my phone (which means I will "like" things but not post) and I saw something about @CheerBear wanting french doors at the entrance of the cave. {face palm}.

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

Thanks @Former-Member 🙂

hey @Phoenix_Rising... I super love the balloon idea, I have no idea how Im going to put that pic together but I love the idea and am going to try!! Not sure how it might affect your aerodynamics but if you're fine about that I'll try to come up with something.

For the pics I just use trusty google images and either the preview app on OS. If extra manipulation needed I use drawing in open office then "grab" on mac. I'm sure someone with photoshop skills would do it there but I have taught myself this way through necessity and trial and error, so that's how I do it.

maybe @Former-Member can make you a basket 🙂 she's pretty handy with that weaving now.

.... and yes the french doooors... maybe pining for those is what made her sick? 😛 (french doors!!! - ROFL!!!! ) We will certainly have one heck of a cave by the time Cheerbear Grylls gets done - THAT's for sure. Once she's recovered of course. 🙂
