Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

@Spookytookims, not sure what's happening for you at the moment but if writing is making things hard for you then I'm sorry if you've felt pressure here and I'm sure that everyone can understand if you're not up to it. I think we'd all prefer you to be ok than be on a raft or out of order. If it is something else and you think it would help to chat about it, or something totally different than it for a while, then please do. If stepping away for a bit feels right then sending you bears and hearts and stuff while you're out of order. CBG ❤️

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

No No @Spookytookims please don't leave the Island, can't you see how scattered I am - I need organizational direction!

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

i agree with @CheerBear if your feeling to much pressure it ok to take a step back until you work out what you want to do, float on that raft for a bit until some ideas come to mind for you @Spookytookims

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

I had the episode pretty much done... came back to ask Shaz a question and saw all of the stuff wasn'r relevant anymore... so now building a raft and leaving the island. My INTPness went into meltdown, soz.

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

That would have been annoying and frustrating. I can't imagine how it's irrelevant but if you say it is then I will take your word for it. Also no need to apologise for anything @Spookytookims

If you'd like some company off the island for a bit then shout out

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

You made me a seriously cool hammock and there's always room to share it with someone else or together for a while to chat @Spookytookims. I don't want you to leave so if I can stop you before it's built I will. But I will also wish you well if you do sail off and know that your raft would be much more floatable than one I could ever build.

I just found an interesting article on 24 proposed INTP subtypes, I wish I could remember which order your trait scores were so I could read it more with you in mind. Then I found an article with an heading that got me. It's called "why INFPs are emos and ENFJs are care bears" and have to read that one, which is what I am doing now.
