Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

Yes I did when it was posted @Spookytookims - hilarious! I definitely completely loled and have visited it a few times for a laugh!

I'm making this table. It's kind of funny. It's supposed to be lighthearted fun and I am hoping it's taken that way - it's nothing rude and I am pretty sure nothing offensive (am trying super hard to make sure it isn't taken anyway other than for a bit of fun)! I think I'll just post it with you, bug, phoenix and my types to start but am adding queenie and the vorticon into a separate doc and will ask if they'd like me to include it and update it for them once it's done. That should be ok I think?

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

Hey @TheVorticon - seeing as you're kind of around, I am making a listy tabley thing with some of the funny/silly pins for MBTI stuff I have found. It's silly stuff like "MBTI types as sources of light" and "The ingredients of MBTI types". Nothing serious. I don't want to include you if you really don't like this whole typing thing, but I don't want to exclude you if you think it might be a little bit of a laugh or something half fun/interesting-ish. What do you think?

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

hahaha I reckon The Vorticon would just pffffft at anything he didn't agree with rather than getting offended.... but fully understand why you might want to check with him first @CheerBear and yes for Queenie she is suffering quite badly at the moment if she wasn't I have a feeling she would be adding to our hilarity quite a lot. She has a brilliant sense of humour.

Now.. bring on the rest of them!! 😛

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

I've saved it for them just in case or if/when they're ready @Spookytookims. I'm in my pinterest heaven and will surface eventually with a list of goodies 😄

Haha! It's awesome and super exciting @Spookytookims!

Nah not yet! I have to get this perfect - I'm putting all these pins together and then need to colour co-ordinate them. Soon though. Is partner in the air?

Yes @Lil-caterpilar. I am lost in two of my favourite worlds. Pinterest and MBTI stuff. Oh and Turtle Island. It's like the best night ever 😄

I'm creating something for us all here to laugh at (hopefully)
