i dont know what the first part means by Cytosis means an abnormal number of cells

Agranulocytosis can be broken down as follows:

A/ - Absence or lack of

Granulocyt/ - Granulocytes (a major class of white blood cells)

Osis/ - A condition

Therefore agranulocytosis is a condition whereby there is an extreme leukopenia (lack of white blood cells) of granulocytes which are important infection fighting white blood cells.
