Navigating grief and loss

Grief & Loss overwelmed

Grief & Loss overwelmed

Hi, I'm having a huge battle with my emotions, being overwhelmed at times and when these feelings arise, they are un-controllable...

My Eldest Daughter passed away 9 months and even though our relationship at times was a struggle I loved her for being herself... having to turn off her life support was the hardest thing Ive had to do... My Partner of 46 years is navigating Breast Cancer, along with her recent loss of 2 elder brothers to Cancer has placed a greater sense of loss on us all.

I have started to engage with local Mens shed to chat about things, my Parish priest is supporting me and it all is huge stressors.

Some days coping is difficult, so I know how some are feeling yet there is no magic answer to all of this.

Hello @DuncanTDG

Welcome to the SANE forums. Thank you for showing up and sharing so openly and honestly with us.

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have been through and are still going through a lot. I can only imagine how immense your grief must be. My heart goes out to you.

It sounds like you have made some good connections in your local community, I am really glad to read that you have that support. Coming here to connect with others is a positive move as well.

You're right, there is no magic answer but community, connection and self-care are really important and it sounds like you are trying your best to do that.

SANE offers one on one support as well. If you're interested, you can find more information and register here: Welcome to SANE’s Recovery Club

Sending you all my best. We're glad you're here with us.

Take care.
