Navigating grief and loss

I am beyond lonely and have no support system

I am beyond lonely and have no support system

I am so lonely and I don’t know what to do. My wife passed away just over 3 months ago, and I am so lonely I don’t have any friends or people around to help. I can go anywhere because I can’t afford it and I have epilepsy so often it’s not safe. I can’t get a job because of the epilepsy and I can’t make money I can’t do anything because it’s all so expensive and the no job situation. So I’m stuck in the house alone with all my own horrible thoughts and feelings. It is a vicious circle and I can’t do anything to get out of it. I am drowning in grief and loneliness and Turing to very poor and unsafe coping skills that aren’t even working, I need help.

Hi @B3C welcome to the forum and thank you for reach out. It sounds like you are experiencing a very tough period in your life.

There is help out there, and it sounds like you need to be connected to people who care. A good first step that doesn't involve leaving the house is SANE's Recovery Club https://www.sane.org/get-support/recovery-club

Do you have a Community Health Centre in your area? They could be a good start.

Or ring Medicare Mental Health 1800 595 212 to find your nearest walk-in centre.

Forum members are always here for you too.

It's a good idea to talk to your GP too.

Hello@B3C

I am very sorry for your loss. It must be very difficult and isolating to have no one to talk to. Grieving the loss of someone so important will take time. Also having epilepsy would be challenging too. It might be a good idea to get yourself some counselling during this time.

You might find these services useful in your area. Sending you many hugs. Be extra gentle with yourself. Please feel free to reach out whenever you need to.
