National vigil

I lit a candle and took it to the gate but it blew out.

Hoping Helen Haines survives and makes a good recovery.

Pax et Bonum.

Politics is fraught. And regional healthcare and mental healthcare and NDIS and the whole catastrophe need careful and loving attention. Thank goodness for good people and first responders and everyone who cares enough to make a difference. Like Helen.

Re: National vigil

Yes, definitely its worth posting about. @Dimity Double amputation is serious.

Sadly, I am concerned it will add to further MH stigma and discrimination and further fear and polarisation in our political landscapes. Already some reporters are drawing sim ilarities to other even more violent incidents.

Sadly isolation and mental health falls across all sides of the political spectrums ... Hating on any one "side" or demographic is just hating. I am glad I did a whole pol sci major. I am deliberately using plurals, as I am concerned all the over simplification in current media is partly responsible for the growing intolerance and extremism in our modern society. We could actually have had the potential for more peaceable cultural lives.

He apparently was a dedicated environmental scientist, and mostly oriented towards peaceful attitudes. Demonising any perpetrator is probably not going to help in the long run. I was wondering what happened to his mother, as we did hear from his dad's new partner, something in family dynamics seems skewed.

I wasnt impressed that one news outlet ... quoted him as saying ... 'gobbledygook'.

Guess that is how the cookies crumble these days.
