Navigating grief and loss

IS IT WRONG TO EXPECT ADULT CHILDREN TO TREAT PARENTS BETTER?

IS IT WRONG TO EXPECT ADULT CHILDREN TO TREAT PARENTS BETTER?

I'm absolutely heart broken, gutted, and angry. For the past 20 years I sacrificed and went through so much difficulty for my son who left home after 3 weeks of meeting a girl. She basically spent 24/7 with him, got high with him, and told him she thought he'd choose me over her (she called him a mummy's boy) (devious) so he left. Its been an absolute nightmare 😫 navigating this nonsense to see my son. Once a week is all I see him for. He did his first overnight only because she said she'd come visit too. How do parents navigate this? I'm torn up and now I had a fall and he hasn't even bothered to ask how I am. WHY DO WE HAVE CHILDREN IF ALL THEY DO IS ABANDON US AND FORGET ABOUT US??

Would be great to hear your story. I'm flabbergasted, it feels like such betrayal
