confused husband

confused husband

im a nursing agency nurse, i only do a morning shift so that i can drop off my wife to work everyday for her convenience. She works office hours monday to friday. This limits my shifts during the week because of her. There will be times that i wont have a shift because there are no morning shifts available. I cant also pick up a shift that is too far because my wife will have to wake up very early if i do that. Now im saving money in case the shift will not be enough in the future. Now im being blamed that i dont contribute enough to our savings. Im now confused on what to do... Work more to earn money but end up making my wife upset for making her wake up early or not able to drop her of at work because my shift is inconvenient for her or make her comfortable by only working based on her convenience but still making her upset and disappointed by not giving enough money to our savings. Feels like a lose lose situation.... i dnt know what to do anymore.....

Hi @Tryingtobenough

Thank you for sharing of some of things that are going on with you. It sounds really frustrating to feel like you’re stuck in a lose-lose situation, where whichever option you choose seems to leave you feeling like you’ve disappointed your wife. That’s a lot to have on your shoulders

I wonder if it might help to have an open conversation with your wife about what’s realistically manageable for both of you, including the financial side and the practical impact of different shifts. Hopefully you can find a compromise that doesn’t leave either of you feeling like you’re constantly letting the other down

I hope you find some support and connection here with us 😊
