Seperation from fiance

Seperation from fiance

Hi I am new to the forum. I've been in a relationship with my ex for 10 years it's been a rollercoaster. He loved bomb me form the beginning felt too good to be true. He is a people pleaser and very talkative to anyone. He had a very bad childhood I felt sorry for him

I realised that he was lying about stuff and twisting his words . I confronted him many times but he manipulated me that I believed I am sensitive and taking things wrong

His friend told me 2 years ago he has bipolar he denied it when I asked him. He did mention borderline but never said anything further about it. He was in hospital before we met trying to [self harm] [edited by moderator] . He is not on medication and not getting therapy. He did say he was going to hurt himself while we were together when we had problems . I felt disrespected a few weeks ago and told him about it. He denied it got defensive, shift the blame on me and played victim again. I clicked that this is a pattern and my feelings are valid .

I broke up with him but still feeling confused. I was in an abusive relationship before him and still wonder if I have a problem . 🙏

Hey @Healing4ever ,

It sounds like a very confusing time to say the least. I can see you have been reflecting on a lot and have so many questions. Whilst we may never have an answer for these questions, have you been able to seek any support to help you work through some of these challenges?

Just a side note, we've had to edit out the self-harm method in your post above to ensure your post meets Community Guidelines. You can read about these guidelines here: https://saneforums.org/articles/community-guidelines

We look forward to hearing from you.
