Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

I do all the right things and some

I do all the right things and some

I just honestly don't know what else I can do to overcome the tiredness of it all. I sunrise swim in the sea, I then go to the pool and swim, ice baths, breath work, physical gym exercise. Eat well, have a gratitude board. Take my medication but one tiny little thing can undo that all in the blink of an eye and I feel like ending my life! I won't for a few reasons. My wife deserves better than that, but also deserves better than me. My sister is battling cancer so my family are dealing with enough, plus I already attempted that once and obviously didn't complete it.. Story of my ADHD life. I do know I've overcome worse but it's so mentally draining. I feel like I'm a burden on my wife and one friend in particular who knows me well.. everyone else thinks I'm fine, which is good. I don't want anyone else worrying about me, everyone has their own problems, I just don't know what else I can do. I already do everything recommended! I don't feel like it now but I'm afraid that the guilt of my sister being sick and my wife worrying won't always be enough to stop me giving up fighting in the future

Hello @fightingpenguin 💛

First of all, thank you so much for such an honest and vulnerable share, I think so many people here can relate to what you're expressing. It sounds like you are working so hard to care for and nurture yourself, so I really want to take a moment to acknowledge all the hard work you have been putting in (it will be helping more than you may realise!).

You mentioned that 'one tiny little thing' can undo the work you have done, and I am curious to know what those moments look like? It sounds like your family are going through so much right now and I can imagine you must be holding on to so much, so I wonder if getting curious about your triggers and slowing things down may help here?

Looking forward to your thoughts. 🥰
