Have just put on Escape to the Country - probably head to bed after that @outlander. Noticed the host has got a beard - not a big fan of them but they seem to be all the rage.

Re: Carers under 30...

Haven't watched show or much TV for a while - now footy season coming to an end Mr D probably won't want to watch so much @outlander. I tend to go for comedy, cooking or lifestyle shows. I avoid those with violence or too much misery.

Have been thinking about doing some volunteer work. Not sure what though.

Re: Carers under 30...

Share the dignity is a really thoughtful charity. Do you help at with collections and distribution or through donating @outlander?

I help with collecting items and then handing them over to the supervisors and also donating. I only help between september and december though for the main chairty bag drive @Former-Member

Re: Carers under 30...

Can you donate individual items @outlander or do you need to put a handbag together with certain items in it?

Re: Carers under 30...

You can do either @Former-Member
I make the bags up and if i have any spares i donate them as well anyway as they use them as well.
They run other fundraisers too like high teas, fitness events and yoga days.

Re: Carers under 30...

There are women out there @outlander who have been and will continue to be blessed by your generosity. Do you have a specific number of hand bags that you like to put together?

I had only heard about the bags - might need to google about the other events - have you attended any?

Don't think they have anything where I live which is quite rural. I feel something like that is so worthwhile. I am quite happy to donate to groups like that which really make such a difference in peoples lives.

Re: Carers under 30...

@Former-Member you can oragnise some of the fundraisers yourself like a yoga session or a high tea or something to. If you have a look on their website and also on their facebook page theres quite abit of infomation. .
I havent attended any myself as yet. Im only learning about the events this yr myself. Last yr was my first yr.

There is a walking event coming up that i might attend though.

I tend to just make up as much as possible. I ask that people donate their handbags to me though as that is the most expensive part. I buy a few things each week from the start of the yr and put away in a box so theres enough usually for around 10-15 bags.
Last yr i donated 32 bags
