Re: Carers under 30...
I don't @outlander but last night listened to my sister as she vented her frustration as she cares for our old mum who is fighting her loss of independence. I do tend to use humour to diffuse the situation, my view, if you don't laugh you cry. Sometimes you need to cry, have a good blubber, with plenty of nose blowing and then look for the humour (as in mother and son TV show).

Re: Carers under 30...
Im good with humour too @Former-Member i can brush quite alot off just sometimes it sticks with me. Cant seem to shake it it makes me have a short fuse so i need to make sure i keep myself in check too. He has some very annoying habits that only stand out more when im in a mood lol. It just gets frustrating sometimes that he wil tell me something a few times like his ankles playing up and i suggest something over and over like speaking to the quack about seeing a podiatrist and he wants nothing to do with it and hes always on my case about my finances and bills etc when i pay more than he does but doesnt seem to think its enough. Just gets frustrating sometimes. Im sure itll work itself out or ill grow just need to keep working at it.

Re: Carers under 30...
What got mum to the podiatrist was me telling her about the free visits with GP plan @outlander, when "free" is mentioned her ears perk up.
Mum is a stubborn old chook, she is wearing socks that have stretched and no longer fit properly (but are not holey) even though I sent her new ones ... I can imagine Gramps would have similar but different eccentricities.
Sis doesn't live with mum so finances aren't an issue but Mum always thinks her phone bills are wrong.

Re: Carers under 30...
Hmm maybe i should meantion the free side of things @Former-Member its always good to hear those words. My pop likes to slurp everything, whistle really loud and start singing very loudly but no music its like hes off on his own little land and starts to sing lah lah lahlah la la literally thats all he sings but its so random and loud.
My pop and i get paid alternate weeks and on my pay day i pay my share of the bills but give him rent money and then he puts it away so then it gets paid together. If im even one day late of getting money out the bank i get a talking to and have had somr nasty things said to me because of it or he goes and tells my mum a heap of crap then i get in trouble off her.

Re: Carers under 30...
@outlander my mum has taken to drinking everything with a straw, she gets bees in her bonnet about things too. She puts things in safe spots and cannot find them. She is losing the phone hand set on a regular basis (Sis has organised a new one that has two hand sets - cradles). When dad retired and they both got the pension and mum had her own money she ensured bills were split 50/50 with Dad.
God bless our elderly loved ones ....
