Going ok @outlander but what has been happening with you?

Re: Carers under 30...

im glad your going ok @Former-Member

mostly its been my mental health deterioration- its gone right down the sink and my physical health has gone right down too. ive currently got a broken finger with both joints broken, 2 bruised finer bones (one of each side of the broken one, soft tissue damage and possibly nerve damage. wasnt diagnosed till 2 weeks ago so was walking around with that for 3 weeks without knowing the extent of the damage. seeing a hand specilalist for treatment now. brace and splint will be on for another 3 weeks yet before going onto the next step.

been having alot of physical issues esp with my stomach (been going on for months but no tests) and fatigue to the point i maybe shouldve went to the ed the other day because of them. and now getting kidney pain as well that need to watch out for

not really sleeping at all an went a few days without sleep but my hand and recent pain is making it harder to sleep at all.

been having the kids alot over the school holidays but they went back today thankfully- feel horrid saying that but its so much extra pressure and work for me.

went to the gp toay and was brushed off but manged to get her to agree to a blood test for allergies etc to get the ball rolling as one of my meds cause liver damage as well. wasnt a good experience with those toay- had to have 3 goes at it because she couldnt get any blood out of the veins for some reason.

and im in therapy- been shoved into doing truama work with a very unsupportive therapist so thats not working out all that well either and still trying to get some meds worked out.

so my hand is making things hard to do around the house and pop hasnt been all that well either because it was my nans date of passing the other day and the cold gets to him more. hes got gp appt on monday for flu vaccine and also to get his foot checked- finally feel he might be listening just a little bit as ive been telling him to get his foot checked for a long while now but i cant force him he has to come to his senses himself and hes agreed to that.

i feel so dreadful and useless. my pop is doing more housework than me atm and it really shouldnt be that way. the most ive been doing is general tidy ups like vaccuming, slowly making beds, cooking, and putting loads of washing on but i cant hang it out nor can i do the dishes.

sorry thats a rather big blurb. thank you for listening.

You are in the wars @outlander ...

Is the broken finger on your dominant hand?

I think I would feel the same way about school going back 😀

Not sleeping is a concern - the body and mind need sleep to help with healing. 😬

Sometimes drinking a bit of water before blood tests helps, one can usually do this even if fasting is required - something to bear in mind to ask. I know Mr D's pdoc gave the GP a monitoring program for his meds, he has regular tests to check on various levels.

Mum had a word to her doc when I told her she could get some free podiatry visits ....

I don't know if your pop would qualify for home help under my aged care but you may be able to get some help with housework:

Re: Carers under 30...

No thank god for that its on the left hand my right hand is the dominant one @Former-Member i disnt realise how much i used that hand till i couldnt!

Oh yes am relived they are back and so are they actually they see their friends and arent bored. I had 2 cups of tea before i left home so i was hydrated enough or so i thought. I dont do well with needles at all so was almost at the stage of passing out. They had to use 3 different veins for the amount they needed to grt out. Yukky. Like Mr D most of minr is monitoring things too but wanted to put some allergy testing in there as well this time.
My pops anklr is from an old broken bone that wasnt reset 40 odd yrs ago and ia troubling him more so i hope they can help more now somehow.

Hmm i know my sleep hasnt been good for a long while but they wont prescibe sleepers.

Thank you for the link ill take a look but not sure if we would qualify but worth having a look at.

What have you been up to @Former-Member ?

Re: Carers under 30...

@outlander

Hope you can find a way of managing your health issues. A friend of mine sees a GP that has done a nutritional and environmental medicine course. Not sure if that would be of interest to you, some have special interest in gut health and mental health, information about this is available on internet.

Things here are plodding along - starting to get my gardening mojo back - Mr D has reached a monitoring threshold so next pdoc appt there will be discussion on med changes - not looking forward to what is likely to be on offer.

Glad we have caught up, albeit too briefly but I am starting to fall asleep. Hope you can get a bit of shut eye too.

Re: Carers under 30...

Thank you @Former-Member ill take a look on the net for that too. They sound abit like a naturopath...

Im glad your getting back into gardening. Is that something that keeps you more balanced within yourself too?
Hopefully next pdoc appt goes well and has an at least ok outcome even if its not ideal...

Goodnight @Former-Member thanks for asking and chatting ❤

Re: Carers under 30...

@outlander - hopefully not so long between catch ups. Trust your finger is soon on the mend too. Getting some decent sleep too ....

The nutritional etc medics are qualified doctors that have done this further study.

Re: Carers under 30...

Going ok @outlander
After getting my teeth done have started the process of getting my other routine health checks underway which have been more than just a little neglected.
