@outlander

It is amazing how something seemingly simple such as sleep has such a profound effect on our wellbeing.

Have you run out of therapy visits? Noticed that was missing from your treatment plan. You might be able to get some help with boundary setting now you are living separate to your mum. Have you been able to set up a good routine in relation to housework etc? How is the budget going now that living arrangements have changed? Can I encourage you to redo your expenses sheet? Stepping out on your own (even if it is with pop) is a big change that can affect the equilibrium. A GROW group might be helpful.

Good to hear you took the initiative and booked pop in too @outlander I had a hunch you would do this.

Take care possum,
D

Re: Carers under 30...

@Former-Member i didn't even think of all these things.

Yes your right no sleep really doesnt help anything but im a chronic insomniac so in a way im use to always feeling tired.
I have run out on the mhcp but the psychologist that im seeing now doesnt run through the care plan. She has an arrangement that i pay the gap fee and have unlimited sessions. I dont like going and being unwell i didn't want to go there.

Um the routine does vary alittle but due to the other work i have 4 days a week but usually i take the kids to school in the morning and then come back and do whatever pop needs plus housework bill paying etc them late arvo on the days i work go do that then come back and do dinner and nightly chores when needed which is usually just the dishes.
Yes its a very big change indeed. I never thought to do the expenses sheet so i could redo that now that things have changed and being more independent etc.
Hmm will look into Grow but im really not comfortable with group settings. Thats a big challange in itself.

Yes i couldnt stand not knowing anything. I want the good and the bad news not sitting on my hands waiting around.i do hope its good news and if its bad the treatment plan for that.

Take care of yourself too❤💖

My little chickadee - is it the therapy you find challenging or is it the therapist? Working through hard things is hard and having a therapist you can trust is the important thing, not necessarily being friends with them. They are someone who can help you keep on track. I have found I need gentle reminders from a counsellor to help me so I don't get carer burnout.

Phams might be another option for some peer support if you find groups intimidating, grow groups are usually quite small.

There are a lot if things to think of when circumstances change, some of which can be quite daunting.

Looked at your recent posts on the carer's hints thread - they are very good.

I am heading out for the day, trying to limit my time on the forum...

Re: Carers under 30...

Its the therapist. I didnt like her to begin with. I was forced into going to see her from family pressures not because i wanted to. I wanted to stay with my current therapist.
Im aiming to do dbt therapy for the mental health side of things which will help my ability to care better.

Carer burnout..?

Thanks @Former-Member will take a look into those options as well. Lots and lots of changing. Im finding very hard to adjust but i guess thatll come with time.

Have a good day 💖

Been a busy weekend @outlander
I do hope you can find someone who you click with (knowing there will be discomfort as you work through things).

Re: Carers under 30...

Sorry @outlander telling you things you already know. Just concerned you have someone on your side to help you through these changes - of course we are here on the forum for you.

Yes, have been self caring - was part of a winning trivia team and won a voucher to a fave shop which was a bonus.

Re: Carers under 30...

sorry @Former-Member that wasnt suppose to sound grumpy, im not grumpy at all and i appreciate you caring

ive been told that therapy is suppose to be uncomfortable at times, i guess its gotta get to the core of the crappy stuff, the current therapist likes to bring in things that i wouldnt have thought of like being a mistake on this earth (yep she said that) we were going well until she kept bringing that one up after i asked her not to. i do want to get to the bottom of it though, but with a more trusting therapist. that might explain a little more to the situation... sorry again, it wasnt intentional at all so very sorry

oh that sounds fun, do you do trivia on a regular basis? or just occassionally? do you like other things like raffles and bingo as well? i liked doing bingo but not into it too much more of a once every now and then sort of thing..

that is a bonus! do you have any idea what you would want to buy? or are you a visual person and like to look before deciding?
