Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

New suicide prevention resources and support on SANE Forums

New suicide prevention resources and support on SANE Forums

Hi Forumites,

We’re very happy to share our new-look Better Off With You website with you all.

🔗 betteroffwithyou.org.au

The website, which launched this morning, offers a wealth of information, resources and support for people managing thoughts of suicide and for family, friends and carers, including:

  • Helpful strategies for people managing thoughts of suicide
  • Practical guidance for support people
  • Real stories of hope and recovery
  • Partner resources and PDF downloads
  • A directory of crisis, community and online support services

We’ve also included pathways into this Managing Thoughts of Suicide and Self-Harm space, so people can find community, connection and peer support here. Thank you in advance for making the new members feel welcome and supported!

And here on SANE Forums, we’ve made some improvements to make finding the right support easier:

  • Here in this space, you’ll find direct links to SANE’s new Better Off With You website and our RecoveryClub program.
  • Under View all resources in the right-hand panel, you can explore a selection of new PDF resources.
  • We’ve created a dedicated Supporting someone through suicidal thoughts space, where family, friends and carers can connect with others and find tailored support and resources.

RecoveryClub has also had some enhancements.

In the program, you’ll find a new Safety Planning Template and Guide, resources about managing thoughts of suicide, personalised 1:1 support sessions, and group sessions to support your recovery.

We’d love you to explore the new resources and make use of the supports that feel right for you.

Warm regards,

The SANE Team
