Advocating for change

Going within - has waking up changed how you advocate?

Going within - has waking up changed how you advocate?

I've been reflecting lately on how much of my advocacy journey started with turning inward. Before I could speak up for others, I had to really sit with my own story and understand it, not just survive it.

I'm curious whether others here have found the same thing. Did your own process of "waking up" by becoming more conscious of your experience and what it means, shape the way you show up in this space?

For me, the more I understand my own lived experience, the clearer my voice becomes.

Would love to hear your thoughts. 🌱

Hey @Proactive

It is good to be able to do advocacy. There are a few outlets. There are even different trainings available. For me, I guess it is regularly turning within, then looking around me, and addressing whatever the situation is. I have recently been invited to a Community of Practice, due to one training I did. I can't share details due to anonymity guidelines.

Also, I feel it's, not an "after I wake up", scenario. For me it's a long term path and commitment, and being HUMAN, there'll be vulnerabilities on the way.

Just look around and do you.

Nice to meet you
