Hey @mattc

I can hear that the loss of your mum is very difficult to deal with right now, where it's hard to cope and you miss her every minute🥺. It sounds like it's been a challenging journey where you cared for her almost six years. It makes sense you would be having issues around your identity and purpose😔. It's great to see you reaching out here on the forums - you are not alone🌺. Here is a resource that may be helpful too: Coping With The Loss Of A Loved One: Practical Tips For Healing And Resilience

@mattc

it is beautiful that you did the caring for your mum.

I found it important to find ways to honour my loved ones, by having things to remind me of them, eg., pictures and things of significance. I did start studying after he died. It helped me focus on present and start new things, if I felt I was still honouring them. Somehow, not forgetting them. There can be different stages of grief, as time goes by. Today I had some good rmemories of my brother who passed 30 years ago, of a theatre he took me to. I try and have an inner relationship with them.

Were there things you hoped to do before your mum got sick and you took on caring for your mother?

I lost my mum 3 weeks ago. I’m devastated as well. I hope you have some times when you feel happy?
