Realising today I have no one to call

Realising today I have no one to call

I have had mental health issues for over 15 years now, been diagnosed with BPD, social anxiety, anxiety, depression and possibly have autism too. The last 2 years have been the worst part of my mental health. I did have support, but after I completed DBT they discharged me. It has been 8 months now. I was left with no job, no goals and no life to go to. Trying to seek support has been a losing game, and trying to get a job has been a losing game. But I have just masked and continued like nothing is wrong and that I'm fine, but really, I'm hurting inside. Today had a massive breakdown and realised I actually have no one to call, no friends and no family that I can speak to. I live with family but they act oblivious to what I am going through. It's like I'm not even here, that I don't exist unless they need something from me. It's lonely, it's dark and empty.

Hi @Darkness21 , it sounds like such a tough space to be in. I hear how isolating the journey can be sometimes. Have you linked in with SANE Recovery Club? https://www.sane.org/recovery-club

We recognise the strength it took to reach out here tonight. I'm sure there are others here you can connect with. Please know you are not alone, even if it feels like it sometimes.

Re: Realising today I have no one to call

i understand your feelings, i have had sever anxiety, depression and possibly autism i have been isolated for 25 years. i have no IRL friends. i am lucky i have a partner i talk to on the phone each day but she lives interstate, but i have never had a job and my family lives in other states of australia. i only have mum in person in my life.

i have recently had a complete breakdown. it is so so hard. i am trying to access mental health services but am having difficulty because they are so overwhelmed.

have you tried lifeline? it is 13 11 14 or mensline? 1300 78 99 78

i have found just talking to them helped me through the darkest times this week

Re: Realising today I have no one to call

hey @Darkness21 same, had such a hard 18 months tbh, with so little support. Is your family helpful or the opposite?

Re a discharge, the changes and loss from different services can be very hard from my experience, was the dbt helpful?

its sad the dbt org didn't ensure you were settled and on your way befoer discharging. a good org should do this, but so many fall between the cracks without that.

Yeah I have talked to lifeline. It wasnt the best conversation but I guess it was something rather then nothing. Its just been quite a lonely and overwhelming process. Having no one that I can reach for the phone and chat to has been difficult. Feels like im on this journey alone and that I am alone

Re: Realising today I have no one to call

My family are the opposite they arent helpful and I can't talk to them about things because either they make me feel worse or make it about themselves. DBT was quite helpful, however I am not sure if it has worked because I have been isolating a lot and not wanting to meet new people.

Yeah I'm one of those middle people that need support but not urgently. Unfortunately there isnt much out there for people that are in the middle.

Re: Realising today I have no one to call

Hey @Darkness21 i hear you. It can feel so isolating being in the 'middle'. Im glad to see you are jumping on here and chatting with the online community for some support. Im sure there are many people on here feeling the same. I was wondering, have you ever tried reaching out to Listenwell? Its a peer based phone line were you can have a chat with someone with a lived experience themselves. Hoping today you are able to find something that offers you some comfort.
