GRIEF is a unique journey.
I had to carry a lot of grief alone. I can relate to not being understood. It can take a while to find what will work for you. I did research a lot... on various grief writers....I used photos and mementos of my loved ones... to help me gradually let them go... and process my own feelings about it all. I also found music really helpful and began studying it after my brother passed away. Sometimes visiting the graves helped, sometimes moving on and finding new things to do and get involved in helped. There is an irony in that sometimes we feel it is not right to forget them, so my photos and mementos are good in that, I live my life in the now, but every now something jumps from the wall ... and I can think .... ahhh .... they made that ... or remember when such and such... and then move on.
Your path will be what helps you.
Tbh I am processing some new information about my brother's death at the moment, 30 years later. It doesn't change the fact that he died, but puts things in a fuller perspective. In that way the grief journeys can be life long. I have symbolic ways of being in relationship with them in my heart and mind... eg .... sometimes, I see them sitting on a cloud, with their legs swinging over the edge ...looking down on us mere mortals....and I can laugh and wave hello...
