Not sure what to do !!

Not sure what to do !!

Hello everyone xx

not sure what to do ?? we saw the Doctor for my hubby who has MI

the doctor said the meds are only used for short term and so he took a blood test to see how everything is

so Hubby decided to go off his meds ,it has only been one week on half his meds and he had a bad day yesterday

he said today he has to go back on the meds or he will be in hospital if he doesn`t , so If we see the specialist hewill say to stop work altogether , he has a sickness certificate at the hospital , he does not want o go back into hospital because he know what they are going to say -- stop work

so we see the doctor again next week

Sending you a big hug.
Was going to suggest seeing a different doctor and I just read that you are.
That's a good idea. xo ☕ morning cuppa for you. 😊

Re: Not sure what to do !!

When I feel anxious, stressed I do deep breathing @Shaz51
Would hubby try that, or maybe he already does.
Deep breathing helps reduce the anxiety a little.
Have to rush now, school run. 💕

Hi @Shaz51

Sorry to read about hubby's struggle at the moment. Your husband may have cut back on his medications too fast - this can acesabate his MI as severe withdrawal symptoms can mimic a relapse. When coming off strong short term meds severe anxiety due to withdrawal can certainly occur. Perhaps he can talk to his doctor about setting him up a much slower withdrawal plan that won't cause such severe withdrawal and a mental relapse? Then he could avoid hospital.

Being on short term meds is there any advice from medical professionals for a long term treatment plan for your husbands mental health issues? Or was he deciding to come off medication altogether? Hope this can be all sorted next week at the GPs to give both you and hubby peace of mind. Hugs 🤗
