@NatureLover @EternalFlower I'm so sorry I've been unable to reply to you and others in threads. It's so difficult to use the forums I'm left wondering if I've hacked in and am persona non grata. So I'll step back.

I was also ostentatiously ostracised at my social support group this morning and won't be returning.

It's tough going at present.

Take care, thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Re: Post solstice

@Dimity thats really a loss, i'm sorry you must be upset about it, its horrible when these groups or supports end up not being there. I hope you're doing okay with the gap from that support. Glad the forums still have nice ppl. Theres a lot of change here but hoping ppl can still feel supported.

Im looking at some properties to move house, as i've been in a temporary situation, and also trying to set up this new therapy, as well as the NDIS. My case manager says my NDIS team is poor, which I agree with but I dont know how to find better ones. There are different ways ppl find supports, and i dont know which is the right way to get someone genuinely caring. in the past i used mable, and found workers there. Its set up almost like a dating up, you can scroll profiles or put up an add with what you'd like in a support worker, and you get matched to ppl or they apply.

Re: Post solstice

It sounds like a lot of changes for you all happening at once @EternalFlower. . Moving house is a big one.

I've used Mable too, and Careseekers which is similar. I can't really face trying to find someone again, and can't really afford it without funding. Psychology and upcoming allied health are expensive. But at the same time there are challenges I can't deal with unless I get help from a paid support worker or (unlikely) a family member. It's an ongoing worry. I've been browsing support worker profiles and most have no qualifications or experience. There's a lot of trust involved, which isn't always easy .

Is there much involved in setting up the therapy? Today I was looking at schemas and beliefs to prepare for EMDR (it was homework from my psychologist). I also seem to have acquired some workbooks eg CBT and ACT.

@Dimity Hello my friend. How are you doing today? It is really good to hear from you. I’m glad you got to library & hope it helped to feel less lonely.Im sorry you feel lonely and are in a depressive way. It is hard isnt it. Yes I get some hekp from ndis. It’s not much. Budget cuts. They took away all my psychosocial supoorts too. It really causes a big problem for me. I’m sorry you not getting the hekp you need for eye sight. The system is awful and I wish I could do something to help. They won’t do taper in hospital for me. I’m just stuck in a bad place with it all. Was the craft shop good? Yes forums not perfect but have good people like you.

@Dimity Part 2. Won’t let me type much before I can post. Is there anything I can do to help? I’m so sorry your fur baby passed away. It hurts so much and they are our babies. I do have a seeing guide dog. He’s the best boy and he’s always by my side. I’m very lucky to have him. He’s an excellent guide but also a very loving boy who sits with me through everything. He’s all I’ve got. It’s another hard day. I’m just totally frozen my nervous system is not working well and there’s a lot of panic and anxiety.

Re: Post solstice

Hello @Cuddlebear gosh I'm sorry they took away your psychosocial supports. IMHO community engagement is part of life and a human right. Glad to hear of your faithful companion. If it's any help I'm willing to chat... if slow asynchronous conversations suit. Mutual support.

I'm not clever at craft but am trying to do a bit of knitting. I have a pink mohair scarf to finish. And am thinking of soft toys for little great nephews. Or even an ambitious Afghan knee rug. I got a row counter and other stuff for those projects. The local library hosts a knit n chat group occasionally that I might join.

I know the feeling of extreme anxiety and feeling frozen. It's awful and my blood pressure spikes. Breathing exercises help, and someone told me cold water on the face helps too but I haven't thought to try it yet. I know in theory I could distract myself with activity but in the moment it's hard. Do you find anything helps?
